19:39 !!! What an ending!! Go Buster Go! Buster is just an amazing player to watch , as is Tommy-- their playing is complimented by the joy on their faces while they're playing. Thank you so much for sharing this video. Wish my dad was here to see this! He had me listening to Chet Atkins as early as I can recall. He wanted to by me a Gretsch 6120 in 1976... and again in 1980: I didn't want an orange guitar!🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ How close minded of me?? I bought myself a Les Paul, and several Martin and custom made Taylors. But dang...it would have been fun ripping it up Chet and Setzer style in the early 1980s!
My God, James Brown was on fire! Definitely one of his best late 80s performances. Compared to those other clips from 87/88, where he's high out of his mind, this is like another man.
I noticed in late 88 in general he stepped up his game for his shows (eg North Sea Jazz Festival). I think he knew it might've been the last concerts he could do in a long while after it became clear a jail sentence was in the cards and wanted to go out with a bang.
