I recognized this as being in the area of Lebanon Avenue and North Illinois Street immediately. I grew up in a small town (Red Bud) south of Belleville, lived in Belleville for a few years in the mid 1990's, and currently live in the county north of Belleville. I love the nostalgia of the empty car lot next door and the ice cream shop that you visited. @3:32 the camera panned the soft drink fountain and I noticed the selection was from the local Excel Bottling Company located in Breese, IL. They might make a great local business to make a video about for your channel. The business began in In 1936 when Edward “Lefty” Meier received reward money for catching a bank robber and used it to purchase a used bottling machine.

That has to be one of the largest neon sign in the STL metro area. At least the widest.

I currently live in southern California and like it, but I miss St Louis a lot. I will defend it anytime someone says something and ive already said if i move back, I'm moving to the city not the county.

Love your humor throughout this video. I can't recall ever sitting in a stoplight area this long, then again its no different than listening to 10 minutes of straight up commercials on the radio

Given the title, I assumed you would be sitting at a red light and eventually run out of things to say. I was wrong. The comment about towing away your skeletons was the best.

The real question is, at what point in the red light wait did Dozenspeed think, "this is going to make great content."?

Appreciate your views and thoughts on St Louis- the area would be much better off if they adopted a few of them. I've lived here twice, 1981-86 and 2021-current, and having made a few laps around this country I can say this is a great place. Not perfect, not everything I've ever wanted, but I have enjoyed my time here and still do!

"Awesome Awesome" YOU ARE THE FIRST CHANNEL to give more of the St. Louis, Mo story. You did a GREAT job and to add I also loved the back ground music. You also included the 2nd Empire home that is being Restored (The Brown's House on St. Louis Ave,) I always watch that channel as well. Keep up the good work.🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thank you very much, I might not be the first but I felt a lack of positive, hopeful light out there on the subject, and that's what compelled me to make it. I was super fortunate to get to film a tour of the Brown house with Kaleb himself, and it's on here too. Even though you know the whole story and are up to date, you might want to check it out too because I think it was a tidy, comprehensive summary of the situation then, which at nearly 3 years old might be neat to look back on from my 3rd party camera. It was filmed just before the electricity was re-wired! Kaleb was awesome to me that day and did a fire job presenting the house. Notice the interior tour was done in 1 single 26-minute take! I thought that was super cool. Anyway thanks for your support and such, I promise I have things going on and more to come, albeit even if it is not all Saint Louis related. Cheers, TYFW

Reminds me so much of 10/27/2006, the night the Cardinals won the WS. I was at Mississippi Nights and left a concert early just as I found out that we won. People hugging, honking, yelling, etc. The clubs at the Landing that night were getting packed after the game. There's more I can say but the night the Blues won SC was probably the most recent time the city had high morale

I moved to the middle of Missouri 2 yrs ago, and ventured in and around StL. I love the southern part of the city, the big park with the zoo and museums. Like every other big city, the suburbs are really nice... similar to a city like Philadelphia... the city itself is a pile of crud, but the suburbs have a lot of charm. I prefer to live in the Flyover State region... lots of cool towns like Hermann.

saw those type of indoor shutters that fold into the wall in Scotland when we lived there. They were fairly common, relatively speaking in victorian era places. Our "flat" had them in downtown Edinbugh had them.

For decades, Steak and Shake was The place to go for thespians. After the curtain has come down, the audience has departed and the stage has been struck, where else could still-pumped cast and crew go for a snack or meal at 2 a.m.?

@@td0911 I think they used to have classic car meets there, they could bring that back too. In fact, I'd say give the driver half off if they show up in a car older than (some arbitrary year like 1970)

I know I've said it before, but I worked for SnS for 13 years. Yes that long. How I made it throughout is beyond me. Left the company in 2011. While I don't wish the company well, I still find it very sad to see what it has now become. The one I worked at (Edwardsville) is facing so much competition now with several restaurants opening. Of course, it's been going on for 15 years now with that area developing. I can remember a time that SnS was the one place to go after h.s. football games, after church, etc and these days I only see 3-5 cars if any everytime I drive by the restaurant. How they stay in business I'm still wondering. Now, Sardar Biglari has been trying to re-invent the company by making it like McD's (the franchising thing) but I have yet to see its success. Two of my favorite business YT channels (Franchise City and Company Man) are not even saying positive things about it. Anyway, thank you DS for taking us all down memory lane. Great shots
