Troy and Nate need to be inside backers. AK and Kaden Elliss should be outside backers with ebiketike edge rushing and Kaden Ellis more of a 4-3 style outside backer who we can send or drop into coverage
My prediction is Landman will be the Mike LB, Andersen will be the Will LB, Ellis will be the SAM LB. Ebiketie and Carter will be the JACK LB. JD, Trice, and Malone will be rotational players.
The three Falcon rookies drafted will be the 3rd stringers in this 3-4 defensive line scheme: DE Brandon Dorlus (4th rd pk Oregon), NT Zion Logue (6th rd pk Georgia), DE Ruke Orhorhoro (2nd rd pk Clemson)
I like this defensive line starters: DE Zach Harrison, NT David Onyemata, DE Grady Jarrett, backups (2nd string) DE Zach Harrison, NT Eddie Goldman, and either DE Ta’Quon Graham or DE James Smith-Williams
This guy is brain dead. Kirk is 4 year contract. The rookie you drafted has a potential 5 years. With the 5th year being optional. Again how did you draft as rookie Qb for long term , if Kirk gets the majority of them years?
You might be the brain dead one. Lol it don’t really have to be a 4 year deal. The real deal is 2 years. They can either sit cousins, trade or let him walk on year 3. My guess is teams will still need a QB so they will trade him. For a pick. The reason that got cousins. Is for the fans & their jobs. Giving the fans a reason to watch. Knowing we can win games because we have play makers & now a QB we can trust to get them the ball. If we didn’t get cousins in our minds we was going to hope Penix could get the ball to the play makers we have instead of knowing. So 2 years is perfect for Penix to sit
👍 Drafting Penix is fine. 🤷 Penix may or may not work out, but if this move does not work out, it won't break the Falcons. 🙎 Just because self-righteous Know-it-alls don't like the move does not make it a wrong move.
Terry Fontenot stated after the draft that the rotation and inclusion of new players will be continuous…I think this will continue to be true for our defense and OL.
Still a bit early but the guessing is fun. Having better depth on the line. And getting younger helps in late game continued pressure. Which failed us a lot last season. If we can scheme better pressure at pivotal moments in games. We can win more of those 50/50 games. Better offensive play will improve our defensive play. More importantly what Cousins brings to this team may have far more implications
Wanna see what the rook and UdFA Isaih does. If he can return fr at this level he could take Avery slot and be a Rb/wr. Scotty Miller is with the Steelers now
It's okay they won't do anything special though don't forget we're talking about the Atlanta falcons lol everyone thought Desmond Ritter was going to be the answer hell when he first came out it was a rookie some of his rookie cards were selling in the upper thousands now you get like five bucks lol not to mention Kirk cousins is a bum one of the highest paid quarterbacks almost every year and he does nothing with it super shity super mid quarterback who had good receivers to help him out lol and then of course and falcons fashion just like they f***** up a 28 to 3 lead they go ahead and f****** the draft by signing Michael Bennett after just giving a whopping contract to Kirk cousins lol basically I'm saying the falcons suck and if anything the only good years they had was the Michael Vick years and deion Sanders years
Ummm, the statement of "we haven't seen a 1-2 combination" is false. You must've completely forgotten about Freeman and Coleman on march to the Super Bowl🤷🏾♂️🤔
I had the same optimism when Teddy Bridgewater was drafted to sit behind Matt Cassell. 1-2 Years learning from a competent QB, then he broke his ankle in game 2 and Teddy had to start and the rest is history. In this situation instead of a quality veteran on a league minimum you have a 100 million dollar QB who was blindsided by this selection. Kirk is coming off an Achilles injury to his planting foot unlike rodgers where it was the opposite one. This will affect his athleticism and will take 1-2 years for him to get back to where he was before the injury. Not to mention that during that time his lack of athleticism will make it easier for the rush to get to him. The more hits he takes the more likely he will get injured again leaving with you with a massive contract to pay and having to start a QB that might not be ready or could turn out to be mediocre and then what you got? By far this is the dumbest move your team could have made and you will regret it for the next 4 year maybe 6
