Thanks for sharing this. When I first went to Deal it was over 46 years ago. It is the most magnificent place. The wreck of the St Nicholas was still fairly intact on the beach at West Cove on Erith and Stan and Shirley Grey were the keepers on Deal. The Murray-Smith's were on Erith. You had much better weather on your return journey than we had heading back to the Tamar on that first trip, for we had over 60 knots of westerley's for about 12 hours. The sched the night prior had forecast light and variable winds of 10 to 15 knots.
I don’t think so, you obviously got the report wrong , most probably the days mixed up or maybe for another part of the globe! People like you should never go near the water wether it be ocean or lakes, probably not even safe in the shower!
