After heating up the water. How long would it stay warm in the cube before using it
@AlexHatlevig
@AlexHatlevig 2 дня назад
Quite a while! Not for hours and I don't have an exact time, but I'm sure it will stay warm for quite some time. The cube sorta of keeps the water insulated

Thank you for the review! Be careful when gathering the water. You should wipe it off so none of the bad water drips into the good bucket. Probably worth using a pail to gather into the source bucket.

Could this be a decent fall backcountry option if we split up two layers between packs? Looking for a double bag setup for us and our toddler
@AlexHatlevig

Yeah I could see that! It’s a little large and not necessarily lightweight, but if you split up the weight it could work

air temperature changes the firmness of any pad. That doesn't mean it leaked. It just means the air molecules are tighter together vs in the heat, the molecules spread out causing more firmness.

Do not power them in your house, I had a new one and it wasn’t on charge for 20 minutes and it exploded and caught my kitchen on fire. Black smoke filled my house and black suit is on everything even in all of my kitchen cabinets 😢 I called the fire department and they said a few of these has failed and caused fires..

@AlexHatlevig

Hmmm I'm not sure about that. It would depend on how many watts your gaming laptop would require. If it's near or over 200w then probably not

Thanks for this video. While I’m not a tent camper the beds in my hybrid camper are very uncomfortable. We have 4 more nights so I’m considering running to an REI to pick one up. The cheap one I bought a couple nights ago from Walmart really didn’t help much.

Looks like a clone of the Sea-to-Summit Ether Light XT. Even the insulation diagrams look the same. I had one (Ether Light XT) which was ASTM rated to R3.2. If the Kilos is a clone, then it will have the same design flaws as the Ether Light XT. From my experience with the Ether Light XT, the insulation "film/layer" ends up dropping down to the bottom side of the pad. Not only that, the Ether Light XT (and I suspect the Kilos) sleeps wayyyy colder than the inflated R5.0 rating at an air temp of 32F (OC). Why? the pad has no baffles preventing cold air from advecting from outside your body print. Not only that, but the dimples on each side match up with each other and are uninsulated. Given these, each time you roll around, the cold air will mix with the warm air underneath your body.

Haversacks were only used for carrying rations during the American Civil War. You wouldn't wanna carry anything else in there with fried meat or raw meat with 3 days of rations. All else was carried in a bedroll or knapsack.

I’ve been looking for a pad for over two years (this is the 4th one) and this is THE ONE! Got the Large Size AeroCloud Sleeping Pad Elite (I am 6 feet tall [1.8 meters], 175 lbs [75 kg], side-sleeper). Pitched my Durston X-Mid 1 to give a try and found it fits perfectly with adequate spacing on top and bottom for small stuff storage. I’m really pleased with the comfort, height and width. Most importantly, it supports my arms without them hanging “over the edge.” Great price, weight, size, and R-value; check, check, check! Not less than a week later, had an issue which required a replacement. Wrote an email on a Sunday night and it was answered in less than one hour, unbelievable! I explained what happened they said they would replace it free of charge. It arrived today and I’m thrilled! Great product and exceptional customer service! Thank you Kilos!

I tried to buy four different orders. Out of all of them, I actually received one. The second and third were labelled "Not in stock. No ETA available." I contacted the company a few times. Their reply was to blame anything but themselves. One order had to be redelivered twice because it was stolen. Baerskin made a few mistakes that should NEVER have occurred. First, I live in an apartment building. There is a communal area for all of the mailboxes. The delivery person left my package on top of a bunch of Amazon packages. Baerskin failed to inform me that my package was out for delivery. Baerskin failed to inform me that my package had been delivered. Baerskin failed to tell the delivery person to deliver my package to my apartment. So, someone stole it. I contacted Baerskin and told them about this issue and they sent me a form to fill out in order to get another delivery. I did. Guess what.....Baerskin made the EXACT SAME mistakes with my replacement order. It was stolen too. At this point, I gave up. I did received one out of four orders. That's a nice, solid 25% success rate. It doesn't matter how good the product is, if I can't get the damn thing in the first place.
