1️⃣ I talk about design and investing on this channel
2️⃣ I do THAT with craft and design thinking, making them very visual and easy to understand.
3️⃣ I'm Justeen, an aspiring designer 🤹🏻♂️ currently working in Silicon Valley. Previously at DoorDash, Waymo, Google, Pinterest, etc
4️⃣ Design thinking focuses on the end goals and needs of the users and remove biases, noise, and distractions along the way. It's actually a very powerful mindset and framework you can use in your every day life.
Hi again Justeen, I would like to ask you how to present the part which we have not added in the slides for ex : how to present the testing part when its not yet accomplish in the assessment due to time limit. Whether to present it in detail ? as to what I could have done if time permits from choosing the method to text X hypothesis and then evaluating or keeping it short ??
I think the best thing to do is to not get yourself in that situation, so budget time to test, show, walkthrough with a friend, family members. 15-30m testing will already give you good info. I bet you can spare 15 min somewhere. If you really don't get to test, at least have a plan of what to test, what assumptions to have, and know what to do if the result is A vs B. Or are you asking if you don't have enough time to present the testing portion during the presentation? If so, it's more about laying out what the test goals is, what the results are, and what you did with the info. Am I understanding you question correctly? Let me know! @@Justeen15 I went through so many articles just to understand the concept of Index Fund but it was hard for me to understand. I loved the way you explained the concept with simplicity by giving an example of index finger and cat. That was unique. Keep making such videos 👍
@@PriyankaSingh-xq5cg Thanks for the great feedback! Speaking of making more videos, are there any concepts of investing you want to know but other videos/articles are not explaining too well? I'm happy to make more user-friendly concept videos!
I think it's totally fine, as long as your solution solves the problem/challenge. The template won't do that for you, but to speed things up. If it helps you save time and allocate that time on iteration and polish, I think that's a win!
Thanks Justeen for the explanation. I got a challenge where in I was told by the hiring manager to focus on process and they don't want polished UI .In this case what should be done ??
Hello! Thanks for the comment! If they told you specifically, then I think spending more time on the iteration is going to be critical (and have the process ready to present). I don't think that means UI is completely out of the challenge, maybe instead of spending 20 hours on the UI, you spend 5-10 hours on it. Another thing to do is to draft up a few different mockup with different fidelity and just ask the manager what level they are looking for. Does that help?
This video should be shown to a lot of designers, especially junior. I’ve seen a lot of designers frustrated they can’t get a job and feel they need to be a LinkedIn influencer to get opportunities
Great video! Regarding volatility during earnings @9:45...I'm seeing that stocks with earnings coming up in a month-ish timeframe (e.g. AAPL, BLK) don't actually have higher IV for that corresponding option period, yet the option price is higher (e.g. APPL's 8/2 235C is 3x more expensive than the 7/26 235C...just a week earlier). The price of the 8/2 options are very high, and it appears the theta is also higher (as you said, more needed to drop the price), but IV doesn't appear to be the cause of the higher price as 8/2 and 7/26 are 27% and 24%, respectively. So should your slide say High Price -> High Theta? Also - I thought IV was derived from price, but per my example, this doesn't appear to be true. Any thoughts??
Hey thanks for the comments! I see what you mean, so the connection there is, high IV will cause high option price, and because of the high option price, the theta will be higher. What you said about "high price -> high theta" is true. At the same thing, if you think about what drives the price high? There are many factors and IV being one of them, so it's like high IV -> high price -> high theta. I was simplifying the connection in the video with "high IV -> high theta", cuz if the IV is so high, the theta is very likely to be high as well. Does that help? Let me know if you have more questions!
@@Justeen15 understanding it from the interviewer’s pov, making it more high-level, readable, and not providing too many details. I am in the process of putting together my deck for an interview on Monday and I had just about every single research detail in there that probably would have made my presentation way too long. I love the idea of secret slides if they ask me to go more in-depth
Justeen…you are sooo great at explaining the options material. Your design background is huge and, being a visual learner myself, I can grasp the concepts much better. Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much Catherine! Glad that's helpful :) Just to get some quick feedback from you, any particular elements in this video that help you understand buying call the most?

Which CAD tool is this? I came here to learn how to measure distance between objects with the same sketch in FreeCAD, but it doesn't seen to be that tool you are using... I would advice you to make the tool name explicit in your title - or at least in the comments. Best regards.
Hi thanks for the comment. The tool is called “Sketch”, which is a UI design tool designers would use in their day to day. The little yellow diamond on the top left corner of the thumbnail is the logo of the tool and “Sketch” is also the first word of the video title haha. Sorry for the confusion!
Correction in the video (thank @jamesdevlin1351 calling it out) 7:00 it should be "720 call and 715 call" instead of ""720 put and 715 put" 8:48 it should be "if the TSLA ends at $620", not "$720" 9:34 max loss should be $3588, not $3320 (I don't know where it came from lol)
If tsla ends at 720, wouldn’t the 715 call be in the money ? I don’t understand how this would this be a total loss. Also, where is the $3320 max loss figure coming from if the contract costs $3588 ? I thought I was starting to understand this but the ending of this video is confusing me ! TIA
Hey James! Thanks for the callout, I actually don't know what's going on. Seems like something was mixed up in my video. Very good catch! which means you actually get it! To get the facts straight: 7:00 it should be "720 call and 715 call" instead of ""720 put and 715 put" 8:48 it should be "if the TSLA ends at $620", not "$720" 9:34 max loss should be $3588, not $3320 (I don't know where it came from lol) Feel free to join my Discord to chat more! discord.gg/z8MHcfpZRQ
I have been working as a UX designer for 2 years despite graduating in food science. Actually, I am worried whether to deepen my skills in the field of UX or pursue a master's degree to build connections, because the cost of a master's degree is not cheap and also might not guarantee a suitable job upon graduation without adequate skills. but, Thank you for your explanation, it has made me reconsider my plans.
@@Justeen15 The explanation at point 14:33 (My ArtCenter master's degree breakdown) was very helpful to me. For now, my main focus is to work and develop my skills and abilities in the UX field so that they are on par with international talent. However, I will also be searching for scholarships and preparing to pursue a master's degree in parallel, as not all universities accept master's degree students from various background disciplines, and not all universities offer scholarship options.
@@pambudiono-7961 That makes sense! Thank you for the inputs :) Yeah make sure the programs offer what you need. You can always poke around their website for curriculum or even call the department for info. Also worth to talking to existing students, going to their open house, etc.
Hahaha totally that's quite surreal isn't it. I fell for it too when I was previewing it in the timeline too haha. Do you find that relatable? Anything stood out to you?
ahh the retarded ux market, do free labor assignments, compete against 200 candidates maybe you win a gamble and we will pick you or maybe not because of your eye color.

@KaiaaaaOvO I don’t have another video cuz they are likely very much the same questions (from my personal interview experience from intern to senior roles). Likely it’s the answer that’s different
Recently, I've been gearing up for my interviews, and your video is incredibly beneficial in kickstarting my interview preparation. It would be greatly beneficial if I could access your worksheet to aid me in preparing for interviews as a beginner UX designer.
Thanks for your kind words! Out of curiosity, what specifically in this video that you find the most helpful? The questions? The way the video is presented? The breakdown? etc?
Thank you so much I realy realy greatfull. i bout put credit spread150/145 tsla stock when up to 170 i have no idea what to do, but lesson to you it makes all cleaer .Thanks Now i can close
Hi Hannah, thank you for the kind words! Yes simply closing it will lock in profit! Out of curiosity to just get some feedback, what specifically in this video that you find the most helpful? The example? The graphics? The talking style, etc?
@@Justeen15 sure thing. I think most other RU-vidrs simply talk about process, you talk about philosophy instead. It gives a better idea of what interviewers wants to see
Hey, Thanks for sharing, it was really helpful, Could you share a video of your portfolio presentation for the DoorDash interview and provide an explanation?
I seriously like the 5 examples you shared in the video. I have watched and read so many videos/articles from other people, they often don't give me a tangible sense for me to know what consider a "better" storytelling. They usually just talk about structures, and the outlines. Your way directly show me the differences by comparing all the different examples, the deck content and the way you talk to make the audience involve to the tennis scene. It used by the TED talks a lot. Love it. great work, and thank you!

@@Justeen15 Your videos on selling puts and buying puts. After watching videos after videos, I am starting to grasp option trading. Unfortunately it's baby steps. Hopefully I can become better after a few months of trial and error. Awesome videos I highly recommend.
@@RD-jp4zs Haha yeah it takes time to grasp for sure. Let me rephrase my question: any thing in particular in my put videos that help you understand the concept better? the visualization? the graphic? the robinhood screenshots? the contract metaphor? the silly humor :)? And do you now get how puts work and how to buy and sell puts?
@@Justeen15 Yes I finally understand how puts and call works. But I am still making mistakes trying to hit a grand slam by buying a call on META last week. Watched in horror as the stock dropped 70 bucks :( Your videos and Jake Broe videos are very easy to follow but I still have to watch it a few times because I don't want to miss any info. You are the only 1 i noticed that uses the graphics from robinhood and show the option contract right next to it. You also talk about to selling the contract instead of exercising it.
Thank you so much Justeen! I have watched both of the videos talking about interview with dev! These videos are super helpful and I will have an interview with dev next Monday! I'm excited lol
Thank you for the comment! The moment you start to get excited about interviews, is the time you started to transition into the next stage of your designer career :) Keep it up! Cheers!
@@Justeen15 The interview gets hard and challenging, there will be some line of questions that i might not think of, or just building familiarity to the situation itself(because i get nervous). Also, as a Korean person who grew up in Korea, it will be extra nice for me, i can immerse myself more to the language and way of thinking when it comes to hiring process. By the way, Can I also get the question worksheet that you have worked? I will send you the email, like you asked. Thanks again. Justeen.
