I’d like to add a tip for the missing hole covers. Get gaffers tape, the smallest roll you can get, probably from HD or Lowes. Never, ever use duct tape, by the way. It is garbage, will turn into goo in heat and lose its adhesive in cold, making a forever mess. Look online for “gaffers tape”. It is a permanent solution in all climates and will remove neatly if ever needed. It is usually about 4-5x the price of duct tape so try to find a small roll. A full roll will be about $16-20 and you can throw all the duct tape in your house where it belongs, in the trash. Gaffers is a professional product.
Thank you SO much for sharing the process, along with all the little discoveries. That’s priceless info! This is a very well-done video. Much appreciated.
Thank you on both parts videos helping me through this window regulator change is not Pita to do just time consuming, and yes my door inside screw was off by good 1/8" So I put my knee into the door gard and I got it to go in by hand then used my tiny electric driver and it's in hole. Without both your videos I was seriously stuck So I really appreciated this 2- part videos thank you , from Donald
So I put my driver side window down the other day and now it doesn’t go back up, it makes the motor sound when I try but nothing, and of course it’s rained like every day since it’s happened. Is that a regulator problem?
When i saw the whole panel was one piece i thought it was a great idea. Then i tried to replace it and could not believe how difficult the made this. The cherry on top is they used rivots. 9 out of 10 people don’t have a drill AND rivot gun
What does usually break? I am wondering if this can fixed rather than replacing the whole thing. Mine makes sounds and the motor works but window does not work. I clearly heard something plastic breaking before it stopped working
Have you removed the window motor? If not, try removing the motor and see if you can move the glass down with your hands, until the bolts appear through the holes in the metal window regulator panel.
My dealership said they’d change it for $50, I just bought it for $10 (including a discount I get from work) and will change it myself for free if it’s this easy!! Even without the discount, the filter is only 24 bucks at OReillys, half the price that the dealership charges. :/
Excellent instructional video. You make the job look easy. I am only replacing the driver's side door actuator and have encountered several problems. Also, another video that I watched, before finding yours, led me to believe that I needed to remove the bracket that held the actuator. After watching your work, I realized that it was not necessary at all.
OMG!!! Thank you for this!! I was able to do this and clean out the filter area in 5 mins! My dealership really just tried to charge me $125 for this smh
I don't actually like commenting but this was so helpful.Thank's allot for this video 🙏🏻 mine is a virtual proximity sensor, and I now understand how it works 🙏🏻
The bolt holes for removing/installing the window, you used the wrong tape for the job. Packing tape is crap on metal. Use duct tape. U also said it wasn't necessary. Yes it is. Cold air, dust, moisture will pass thru. It also keeps noise down and air pressure stabilized. Otherwise, not a bad vid
