I've created this channel to pay homage to some of my favorite punk rock bands and songs from the 90's. I do my best to capture the original recording guitar tones of the songs I cover by using a combination of different amps, guitars and pedals.
As a creative I want to combine the three things that I am most passionate about; music, photography and video. I know this channel will continue to expand but for now I am having a lot of fun shooting these videos and keeping the creative juices flowing.
If you got a song in mind and wish for me to cover, send me an e-mail or a comment and I will gladly work on that cover for you. Keep in mind that most of the songs I will feature on this channel are within that 90's period, it might be limiting but that's the gist of the channel after all. I will throw a newer song from time to time.
Thanks a lot for watching and please subscribe if you enjoy the content of this channel.
One of my fav bands. One that gets even better live. Your channel looks awesome. Love the song and band choices. Subscribing. Looking forward to seeing more! 🎸🔥
I've seen Reggie with so many cool people in the band. Matt Pryor, the Pope brothers, Andy from hot rod circuit, Sean ingram, Frank iero, always a cast of characters. Gerard way every night on stage in the bear suit on the Reggie/my chem/midtown/from autumn to ashes tour. So good
It’s based off Tom’s old Strat, yes. It’s technically a Partscaster I put together using a Fender Custom Shop body that I routed for a humbucker in the bridge and a Fender Custom Shop neck.
@@zacatkinson3926 yup, that was the whole idea behind the build. I’ve always been a big fan of his signature Strat. Fun story I built this guitar probably a month before Fender reissued the Strat again haha.
Being a swiss guy, the only way for me to discover these bands was blink 182's urethra chronicles VHS. Tom said he likes jimmy eat world propagandhi and fenix tx so i found a way to buy these CD's. Good music and good lifestyle! Then everything went down the drain. Thank you for staying punk rock mate. Carlo
I first heard "Mable" when a tennis camp counselor was driving us to a match. Those distinctive guitars really crunched through the stereo of the '95 Plymouth Voyager. Twelve-year-old me was in the back of the van like, "What... is THIS? Play it again!" I quickly scooped up the album, and it opened up a new world of music. Cheers, dude!
Hah, thank you for sharing that story. I think the first time I heard this song was on a local college radio station punk show and then remember seeing the video on MTV shortly after. Great record. Cheers, my friend. 🥃
I forgot to mention that most of these photos were shot using a Leica 50mm Summilux f1.4 ASPH lens with a yellow filter and a few others with a Leica 35mm Summicron f/2.0 ASPH.
Good for you. I wouldn't say tabs are worthless, they can help or at least get you started but as I mentioned on my video its much better in the long run to try and and learn songs by ear. Not only will it make the whole process faster, I think it will help you become a better guitar player. Cheers 🍻
I’m a new Leica shooter and was watching your review about the voightlander 35 1.4. So I jumped on to your channel and to my surprise you had a guitar cover of my band. Hot Water Music. Small world. Great video. Also my buddy hand makes amps you should check out. They’re called gosh amps. Looks like its right up your alley. Not saying to buy one just putting it on your radar. Anyway thanks for the cover and the Leica videos!
Oh wow, this means a lot! I hope I didn’t butchered the song too much haha. Thank you for watching my videos, and welcome to the Leica club, great cameras and excellent shooting experience. Are you using a film or digital Leica? Which of the guys in HWM are you? If you don’t mind me asking. I have heard of Gosh Amps, really like what I’ve heard on YT clips and would like to get my hands on one even if it’s just to test out, maybe one of these days. Thank you again for dropping a comment. Big fan of the band. Cheers 🍻
@@rebelwithano George! I've never shot with an M10, I tried one at a Leica store and loved the slimmer body. I currently own the 246 Monochrom but I might upgrade to the M11 in the future. Again, super stoked you came across my channel. Cheers 🍻
This brings me so much joy, I can’t even explain it. When the full guitars kick in after the intro, it’s just feels like… home <3. Thank for this cover!
@@90sPunkRockCovers very solid work man, loving your channel, still going through your videos, one of the most accurate performers to the record on the platform, seriously cool man, keep it up🤘🏻
@@90sPunkRockCovers I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not but I was mainly talking about how those bands used that in specific not what difference it would make in tone
@@THE-CRT I wasn’t being sarcastic at all, I guess I just didn’t understand what you were trying to say is all. I thought you meant the tone they got from a Stratoscaster with a humbucker. I guess I still don’t understand your original comment lol.
Omg man that was incredible, you nailed it, that's one of my favorite songs, I wish Mathais would play the main riff after the bridge live like he does on the record. You absolutely nailed the ending too, really really awesome man!
@90sPunkRockCovers I understand why too, it's because it's hard to play those riffs and sing at the same time, but aw man, that riff coming back at the end is just incredible. If you have the time, I'd really love to see you cover another song of theirs, whenever you get a chance, it's called black eye. Another one with an incredible guitar riff throughout the chorus' and as the solo for the bridge. A little simpler than a ten, but it sounds just amazing in my opinion
