Advice, guidance and support for aspiring police officers. Join over 12,000 of our successful delegates who have now achieved their dream of becoming a police officer - now it's your turn!
Police are struggling to recruit & retain... officers have little powers, are abused on the streets, are over worked & carrying huge workloads. There is an increasing lack of support from senior officers, government & more importantly the general public, Its a worthless career, people join & leave due to the pressures. The criminals have far greater rights than those of the officers. If our politicians do not show respect for our officers, how do they expect anyone else to !! Policing once used to be a respected profession, however our government has continously chopped away the benefits & rewards over the years & turned a career into a job. I would say those of you who have failed to achieve the grade have had a VERY lucky escape !!!
Hi I’m about to do this in the next month it’s something I’ve always wanted I’m dyslexic they have given me more time and said I won’t be tested on my grammar as support in the role will be offerd But proper nervous as it’s something I’ve always wanted little scared and overwhelmed idk where to start!
Just want to say, as someone who's recently come through the process and been given a start date, that your advice was invaluable and that, for anyone watching this video regarding the final interview, it's absolutely spot on. They covered everything here in one way or another.
@@callummaxwell7331 as I recall they asked me 6 questions in total. Why diversity is important? Why I want to be a police officer? What I knew about being a police officer? A time when I was brave/ did the right thing? A time I worked as a team ro overcome a problem? And I can't remember the other. Sorry. But definitely six. Also asked follow up questions on all of the above, so be prepared.
@@callummaxwell7331 oh, the sixth question pertained to understanding the demands of the DHEP, what it entailed and how I'd managed my workload. Since that was the particular route I took into it. Have good, well rehearsed, 3-5 minute long answers ready for their questions. They take notes almost the entire time. Mine were very friendly so don't assume it'll be a grilling. If they stop taking notes assume, as I did, you're waffling and they've got what they need/ what is relevant for your answer. But, again, they follow some questions up so be prepared as best you can (hard to advise here as it's individual). I was incredibly nervous, so don't beat yourself up if you are as well. Convinced I'd failed badly only to be told soon afterwards (15 minutes) I'd smashed it. Good luck.
what a joke what would the high ratio of those going in to the police know about the authentic self the criminal justice system is a narcissistic system infested with narcissist all working amongst there own kind there running the show in the criminal justice system fueling there need for power over others and getting there needs for narcissistic supply met by mentally abusing and gaslighting the public there pissing in the same pot as the probation service all you get is lies and deception there mental abusers
if you have a high moral compass and don't have a mental disorder like NPD don't bother joining the police it infested with them the criminal justice is a narcissistic system it run by these parasites there a none human force hosting through a lot of these kinds of people there consciousness is being over ridded the criminal justice system is inherently corrupt which is raised from narcissism and by joining the police you become part of that corruption if any one stays in the job longer than two years that says a lot about them as a person and where there morals lie
Hello, I’ve failed twice with the national sift test, I’ve tried revising and have tried very hard but still failed. Is there any advice you can give me?
I’ve got my interview on Monday😊 So would you suggest just being yourself and giving relevant examples to the question rather than focusing on the CVF?
I’ve been binge watching a lot of your videos, I’m interested in applying soon before the deadline for this years PCDA, how much of your information is going to be the same for this route, or is it all the same? If so i feel extremely underprepared and unaware of where to begin and how much time to give myself
Good evening Brendan I’m in the process of ( hopefully ) joining the Met as a P.C.S.O with my day 1 assessment in under 2 weeks, Would you have a relevant course that would benefit me ? Many thanks in advance Dean
I haven't gotten past the trap question yet, but I think I know the trap: there are some circumstances in which you *should* treat one person more favorably than others -- if, for example, you're dealing with a bunch of drunks in the aftermath of a bar fight, and three of them are being rowdy, uncooperative, aggressive, and attempting to continue the fight with you. The fourth is looking embarrassed and apologizing for their friends' actions, trying to get them to calm down and behave. And, knowing their friends pretty well, they're even starting to get some results. You would be a fool not to recognize the value in working together with the cooperator in order to secure better behavior from the others. This is a situation in which, *of course* you give one of them better treatment than the others. They earned that by presenting different *behavior* from that of the others. What the question presumably had in mind, of course, is 'how would you ensure you didn't treat someone favorably for irrational -- or even perhaps discriminatory -- reasons. And sure, you have to actually answer that, but first you should dispose of the premise that it applies to every possible situation in which you might have a reason to treat one person differently from others. It doesn't.
I took my assessments for the online assessment centre yesterday. I swear I totally messed it up. I didn’t have much time to prepare my answers and practice them aloud which would have helped A LOT by practicing verbally. As for the briefing exercise I think I was saying the right stuff but it felt like I was reading a list in my head. Writing exercise I’m sure went okay. Love the content you make! Will be going over all of this again soon to prepare my almost definite 2nd attempt lol
Please guide me with my PCSO written assessment on July 1st. I know my English is not good, but my French is good. My writing skills are not strong. Should I go for the interview or not? I am very confused about how the paper will be. I can speak, but not like a native speaker.
Do you have any guidance on the Detective constable entry programme? I've completed the online assessment centre, and the BSQ well enough however, I'm finding it hard to prepare for the for the next stage.
It went really good I was listen to your other videos about Thames Valley and everything you said was true so I’m so happy saw that vid they will let me know I a week time so I will keep updated
