Almost thirty years later, I learn that when you roll the tank sideways, you can interrupt it and roll it back the other way again, you don't have to let it finish the complete roll in the direction you started. That would have been a lot of help when I was playing this back in 1988...... Great playthrough!
The zoom- and rotation-effects remind me a lot of the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo Mode 7. Maybe the Nintendo System-Developers liked Assault and were inspired ;-)

I love this game! The way scaling is done on jump pads was awespme back in the day and the way you can fire a super shot by pulling both sticks apart. Love those dual joysticks for driving
This is one of technique to open walls. Just wait in front of walls several tens of seconds, then all walls will open. Of course it wastes player's health, so that only used if you exit but no keys.
In Peter's sequence, I mostly used "toggle control"(tc) in the console command. First, with player's 1st person view, stand the position as camera, and bring Peter a performance starting position, then open console and type "player.tc" to freeze player and "(Peter's ID).tc" to control Peter. That was very difficult to take that scene and retook many times😂 Thank you for watching and I hope you'll enjoy this series long time😉
Agree. Konami we’re known for beat ‘em ups, capcom was all around with good beat ‘em ups and shmups, but mostly fighting games, raizing and cave were shmups. I’d say Namco, midway, and taito were known for original ideas built around good graphics and music.
Terrific game, my top 5. If you get the PS4 version it is amazing and both sticks work as they should, plus you can add scanlines and it looks terrific!
I remember one of my family members talking to me about this game, I went to see it, play it for a bit, and some months later wondered how many levels there are, and now I know, pretty interesting, thanks for showing.
When it came out we played all day through to level 255 wondering if it would glitch out at 256... pretty much the entire arcade let out a big disappointed groan when nothing happened.
