I wouldn't really trust the title of this video. I used the method to wash my 2-week old starter locs and had a LOT of them unravel. If I could go back 3 hours and tell myself not to wash them I wouldn't do it again. Well made video, but this is absolutely not a 1-size-fits-all method and my experience was that it caused a large amount of unraveling
That’s a fair opinion to have. Nothing is one size fits all but this is the method I have always used with my starter locs and it’s always worked. I leave my cap on while my hair is drying because if I took it off while wet I would experience unraveling. It also depends on the length of your hair. If your hair is extremely short or if you go in washing vigorously then you have a much better chance you’ll have unraveling.
Took out my twist cause i couldn’t keep them together not a professional at all but I don’t wanna pay crazy out of pocket and I plan on doing it myself the rest of it anyways so I think this is gonna be for me
Thank you 🙌🏾✨ I’ve always honestly enjoyed mine the most when they were shorter in every single location journey. It’s nice to be able to pull them up but once I can that becomes the daily default
I never claimed to have starter locs but I’m giving an example of how to wash starter locs to keep them from unraveling. The method I used when I did have starter locs
Mainly because locticians want the locs to start settling and locing before you go in and washing so you don’t risk slippage or them loosening up. But if they are done well they should be able to be washed same day with no issues.
In this video I was showing how to fix holes which is a similar method to instant lock but not interlocking. But you can use this method to retie if you want.
You're fired cousin. The girls run this now. Might as well change the channel to "The *insert surname*'s Way". Lol. I think it has a nice ring to it. Im so happy to see Cousin Tanya is more comfortable onscreen. 😊😊 P.S. Tori and Juls are getting so big!
The swim caps from You Go Natural are great! Very stylish and work! My nape / kitchen does get damp but that is it. if I braid my locs and pile them on top of my head, the do indeed stay dry as you say. Sometimes, I wet my locs before swimming and putting on the cap to minimize the absorption of the chlorine in the even of water seeping under the cap.
Started mine, basically completed mine today…. I did them to someone hair in 2016 and her hair is beautiful. I have started locs so many different ways.
I am so happy you shared this am thinking about cutting my 3years of traditional locs and getting micro locs.Am looking into microlocs i know i can maintain it better.
I left my frizz alone for the most part but in areas where it was really bad I would use a crochet needle and crochet my loose hairs back into the locs
