Hello Royal [ React ] ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band and Marco Hietala, bassist and singer, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). Thanks for reacting to this great band! I‘ve been a fan for more than 40 years. Why? They are just more than fantastic musicians. They are also great story tellers. There is much more in Iron Maiden than just music for a couple of minutes. Please listen!
As a 56 years old Metalhead with still long hair is that normal Music for me , ok my start as a Metalhead was 1980 with 13 years . The Song is from the 1982 Album : The Number of the Beast and is 2024 still in the Liveset of the Band , all Member of Maiden are order than 65 years
I love when the younger generations get turned onto Iron Maiden. One of the greatest bands ever to exist! 🤘🏻 “Rime of the ancient mariner” live from “flight 666” is also a really great performance.

White Friday (what this song is about) occurred on the Italian front in World War 1 (December 13, 1916), when an avalanche hit Austro-Hungarian barracks on Mount Marmolada, killing 270 soldiers. That same day, other avalanches hit Italian and other Austro-Hungarian positions, killing hundreds. While the exact number is unknown, it is suggested that between 2,000 and 10,000 soldiers and civilians were killed in the avalanches. Reports also suggest that the avalanches happened when both sides deliberately fired at the mountains to cause avalanches that would bury the opposing force. While the event is called White Friday, it actually happened on a Wednesday. They were never able to find all the bodies of the fallen, and so most are still buried under the ice and snow to this day. White Friday was the 2nd deadliest avalanche in history. Also, if I may offer some advice, you may want to either adjust the volume of your microphone or of the video. I turned my volume up to be able to hear what you were saying, and then the music video started and it blasted my ears. lol. While important to hear the music video, it is more important to be able to hear what you are saying and your thoughts on the video being watched.
