Perfect. I was looking for a video to play in a safety meeting for mostly Spanish speakers that I could also read the subtitles on. This is great thanks.
Hello is there a way to iv cannulate a difficult vien that cant be seen but felt without using a cap? I try to feel then disinfect then when i try to go same direction i seem to not get the direction right
That can be challenging! One approach is to use a gentle and steady technique, and make sure you’re properly stabilizing the vein. It might also help to practice your palpation skills on different veins. Keep trying, and don’t hesitate to reach out for more specific tips!
U tie torniquet only tight enough to block veins not arteries so as to recieve inflow but prevent outflow , causing venous engorgement. Thus it should not turn blue after 2 minutes since arteries are open.
It also helps to slightly bend needle before insertion especially in case of forearm cannulation. It is easy to decrease needle inclination and reduces double punctures.
I get most of the draws i attempt. I usually struggle with the patients with deeper veins you can feel but barely see. I will try this technique and go deeper next time. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the wonderful run through. Knowing that we can always come to you gives so much reassurance that our skill set is up to date and up the par.
