Desk is Soundcraft MTK 22, all the stems are recorded myself in the studio for this track. Though ive been thinking about putting them up online for the dubbers if you're interested?

I make my own stems also as I a bass player but yeah I be interested in your stem .. how to you find the desk cos I hear it got a few issues.

Hard to say for sure, either a Ludwig supra or a black magic, I think probably the supra!

I believe this echo was from my hardware space echo... but when using software I like the pulsar echorec.. or soundtoys echoboy :)

sorry for slow reply! its a high pass filter.. which is affecting the spring reverb output... so for that tubby's style filtered sound :)

Very different sound indeed! I love the sound of the spring in the 201 (some people hate them) but I don't really use it much, or for dub mixing... It's very dense and mid rangey, and has a short sustain.. it would cloud a mix quickly if using it for dubbing I think. That said, sometimes it's perfect for vocals, backing vocals or cross stick on the snare.. someone described it to me once as adding a mid range halo around vocals, I didnt understand until I heard it!

Haha I think it added to the wackyness of this dub! These were only ever meant as a bit of fun, was never gonna post em but this random mix is still one of my favorites to this day!

Absolutely man! For a lot of the roots stuff I mix, I can get the whole mix out across 5 channels (if things are mostly mono). Pluis a reverb return and echo return, and you've still got some to spare :) King Tubby dubbed on a 4 track!
