In a story that is SOMEWHERE, the two end up happily traveling together. Eventually coming to accept the world around them. I think it's implied they become romantically involved, idk tho.

After all is said and done, I think the line of "2B, I'm going to kill you now!" isn't one out of hatred, but the combination of 9S' deterioration and his love for 2B making him perform some sort of "mercy killing". Even tho 2B is already dead, in his mind, him "killing" 2B is putting her out of her misery, having to kill 9S, a person she cares about, over and over and over and over again.
I cried with 9S's story ending, when Adam calls him to the light and you (the player) can either choose to go with him or to stay made my heart beat so fast, such an emotional experience while playing a video game
It's an order from the commander, if she doesn't do it the commander with have to stop manufacture on 2B models, and reprogram them, and that'd something 9S doesn't want, and from the short book stories he'll gladly die if it prevents that fate for 2B
I never played nier Automata and just by seeing 2B's Blindfolded automatically is telling me: "prepare to embrace the truth if you play this game". Meaning 2B is already playing the game without accepting the Truth cuz she is blind folded.

Sigh…for those who don’t get it. It’s because of the context. I’m a bisexual woman and I hate being stared by strangers at for my chest. The game doesn’t really let you avoid seeing her ass and underwear while standing, running and climbing. As the player it makes me feel so gross and creepy that I can’t avoid it.The camera angles were purposefully designed in to allow voyeurism of her body and it feels disrespectful to a character, who I identify with as a woman. As for 9S’s attraction, you can be sexually attracted to someone who isn’t in revealing clothing. It took me out the game so many times that I can’t play her character unless she is wearing a different outfit. It frustrates me because her design is SO ICONIC, powerful and downright gorgeous. It might be one of my favorite design in all gaming. I’m ok with the slit but why is she basically wearing a white thong. I don’t see thematic justification for that design choice. I do appreciate that they showed some concern, enough to reel in the design….It could’ve been more sexualized but I’m tired of feeling creepy while playing as my own gender. In the end it just comes down to the creators liking sexy girls but to me it’s just dehumanizing, and distracting because people will label them as the character who be THICC, even when a character is so well written and deep as 2B.
so did 9s subconsciously hate 2b because he knew about her true mission (if so when did he find out?) and then his spiral into madness bought that to the surface

Amazing video on covering the romantic side of nier automata, but I think it’s an even more wonderful game cos it is about so much more than just love. A few of the machines are actually named after well known philosophers, and there’s a whole side to the game abt philosophy and the purpose of life…. This game rlly deserves to be at the top in terms of plot for me
I feel this is all a bit backward, Yorha was first created as a stage play/idol, dance show, this is where the design originated You can clearly see how this is made for dancing and it also really fit with how 2B looks like she is dancing when fighting Some part of the outfit are directly taken from dance stage, for example there cannot be any "panty shot" in the first place because you can never see it, what you see is actually a justeaucorp/leotard used by dancer and the overall outfit is very reminiscent of the kind of liberal approach of a traditional black "tutu" you could find in a modern interpretation of the black swan for example
Iirc read somewhere that the entirety pf yorha was designed around 2b. As in, the designer made her first, then came with how yorhas will look. For all we know she might have been created long before the stage play and decied to just keep her hidden to use her as the mc of the game.
Just finished the game and wow...I didn't realise I would actually shed a few tears during ending C. I was always sort of dissapointed in B when I couldn't play as 2B cause she was always my favourite characters. But once C came around, I was like "YES MORE 2B". It was cool seeing you switch between 2B and 9S over and over. But when 2B got infected, I was like "nonononononononnonononononono". Once she died and I was playing as A2, I wasn't too hurt, but still shocked. But as I thought about it nearing the desert as A2, I genuinly shed a tear and over the course of the game, especially seeing 2B in 9S memories and A2 showing respect for 2B by copying her hairstyle and using her weapons, seeing how emotional she was, I cried even more. The game was soo good and I am definitely going to be playing the next game.
*What always stroke me as odd while playing the game:* If the blindfold is supposed to be a visor... why do they need it? They are Androids. They can simply do the processing of the visor information inside their own Head. Why use a middleman? Unless the blindfold adds a 360° field of Vision since it goes around the entire head.
In reincarnation theres a short story where 9s see all the time 2b had to kill him but it was said that it didnt matter to him. Him wanting to kill her might me more complicated
In the 2nd novel released there are 2 chapters of two different times that 2B had to kill 9S, i recommend you to read it. On one of them 2B denied on killing him, 9s had the chance to escape/kill 2B, still he decided to kill himself instead. He preferred to be with her any other time even if that means his memory and everything just vanished, meaning her to kill him over and over (48 times in total).
I never thought that 2B was _that_ sexualized honestly. Perhaps partially it's because i've seen more sexualized characters. Sure she is sexually appealing, but sexualization is not my only thought about her character. And while she looks really pretty she also looks elegant, powerful, and mysterious too. And honestly, i think that appeal is also quite important, an android like her supposed to resemble a perfect human being.
I hate 9s... he's annoying, always complaining, and he's also the crazy one. In the end, he can't be reasoned with... and is blinded with irrational hatred towards A2. He's the weakest among the trio and I hate his hacking mini-games. Whenever I play as him, I just want his story to end ASAP so I can play as 2B or A2. I have no opinion on 2B. She's OK I think. She has no noticeable character development. She only has two emotions: sad and indifferent, which makes me feel distant to her. A2 is my most favorite. She has a tragic back story, good character development, her mission to befriend Pascal and the kids are fun. Not even 2B nor 9S want to buy toys for the children in the village, but A2 does. She has a good personality and trying to help 9S, 2B, and even Pascal who're actually total stranger for her. She's also the strongest (her berserk mode) She's hotter than 2B, has a badass outfit (unlockable Destroyer Outfit), unlike 2B with her lingerie outfit. Her animation is more fluid than 2B She possesses an aggressive and fiery personality and the most important: she can make a joke. Her interaction with Pod 042 is hilarious at times. She's fun and well-rounded character to be played, the sanest amongst the trio.
spoilers btw: i know this comment is really late, but i think 2b was purposefully sexualized so much so that the relationship of 2b and 9s ends has more emotional impact, because we understand that despite being a machine, 9s has become attracted to 2b (and the player also probably is) Also, while 9s is chained up by adam, the infamous line "you're probably thinking about how much you want to **** 2b arent you?" Since 9s had the ability to eventually learn about the extinction of mankind, he also probably had learned about 2b being 2e, and he understands the pain that she has to go through everytime she has to kill 9s. This is why 2b occasionally lashes out very emotionally when something happens to 9s. She cares about him but knows she has to kill him. The line is probably "thinking about how much you want to kill 2b" (a more dark approach because he knows she wont love him, and that shes going to kill him) or "thinking about how much you want to free 2b" (this is because 9s might think that 2b wants to love 9s, and he wants to take her out of this cycle of having to kill 9s over and over again. or yoko taro just likes girls
