100% correct on cardigans, they can be comfortable for some people but the harsh truth is it does give an elderly vibe, they even call the looser fit cardigans a “grandpa style” cardigan lol not boyfriend style, like they do with looser fit jeans, but Grandpa style because cardigans are in fact aging 😂 wearing a cardigan with youthful, firm, wrinkle free skin doesn’t age you, but when you’ve got older skin, it enhances the elderly features of your natural older self. Some things just age us and that’s okay, if you’re fine with looking older. Like cardigans, gray hair is also aging, when we see someone with jowls, sagging, wrinkly skin and they have gray hair, we know they’re seniors, In my 20s I had my hair dyed gray, it was trendy and cute, and I still look like 21 but with unnatural gray hair because my overall natural self was 21, but now as I’m approaching 50, if I color my hair in that same gray as I did back then, I’ll look older than my age and that’s not what I want, I like looking my age, not older. With the abundance of styles of outer wear available to us, we can choose other flattering designs that suits our body shape, as well as enhance our natural beauty, not make us look like older than we are
I have a Flagherty linen cardigan I bought this Spring and I like it. It is not the old bulky Grandma sweater. Light and short that I can button up or wear loose. Otherwise I wear blazers. They more classic.
Hi Angela, true. it's all about finding the right one and the styling gesture. The one I am wearing is actually a trench coat converted into a statement coat.
I like cardigans because the front opening creates a vertical line on my body. A true water resistant/waterproof trench coat is a perfect polished functional coat in the rainy winter season of the warm climate I live in. Love that you incorporate beautiful, unique pieces in your wardrobe. The green silk blouse is so pretty.
Luv my cashmere cardis! My preppy Boston MA USA 🇺🇸style throws it over my shoulder. I only wear my trench coat when it's raining 🌧 otherwise i look like Inspector Clouseau😊
I wanted to say that I have a camel Ralph Lauren wool cardigan that I really love. And a very practical trench. But I remember that I am only 35 years old so I have 15 more years to wear it 😅
I have to disagree about cardigans, Silvana. I just bought a black, very fine merino cardigan because it was one thing that adds a little warmth when needed (& can roll up in a handbag). I like to wear thin cardigans as a top too; close fitting. Love all your other tips. ❤

Such a great video! I like the way you analyzed these items. The orange print dress is gorgeous! A good tailor can certainly fix it. In terms of regrets, I bought an expensive purse on line that I love but I find it a bit too small to be practical…😢Not sure if I will keep long term but because it was expensive, I am trying to use it. As someone else wrote, best to buy things in person. Thanks again for your always informative videos. ❤❤❤

@@silvanapatrick_stylist As I have just returned from Italy, what impressed me about Italian women was the way they styled simple pieces with accessories: interesting, bold necklaces, shoes and bags. They almost always had colourful bags. Also they were not afraid of a print, I would often see them wearing a print pant print with a simple top and elegant accessories. I would say that they seem to build their outfits around 1 statement item. A video showing how to do this would be great. Grazie mille!

@@tplayspiano hi there, so happy you enjoyed it. It was a special one. The difference between IG and YT is length, so it’s kind of personal. In saying that, on IG although videos are short, you have to watch more of them to have a sense of the overall message whereas here you can capture that in pretty much one video, for the most part. Again personal preference. Does it make sense?

I’ve noticed tailors and cobblers are a vanishing breed in America. I used to depend on my boot guy like part of my family! LOL! Now where to go for simple repairs?
Hey Silvana respect to you and what you do in your channel. Would you consider doing a video on the core pieces of clothing you would choose if you could only have 20 items (10 for winter and 10 for summer)? And what quality brands you would choose? I am always fascinated by women who always look polished yet have small wardrobes. My grandmother was such a woman back in the 1950s. I want to reduce my wardrobe to 20 pieces but find it challenging. Yet despite my large wardrobe, I find I never have anything to wear and want to buy more.
My sister and I are very successful. She has a capsule wardrobe...I have a walk-in closet. We're both from New England 🇺🇸 and dress preppy classic lux. I was packing for a trip, and there were items still with tags on them. My sister says... "you don't need anything." She was completely correct.That was the first week of June. I haven't looked back😊
Hi Silvana! Does it count if you almost did it without planning? The last time I bought a piece of clothing was May 24. That's getting close to 2 months. I just haven't been in the mood and I have pieces that I haven't even worn yet this summer. Have a great weekend!! xx
