Hi, I'm Jordan, and welcome to Lambchop's Chop Shop. Here on my channel I plan to take you all with me while I work on my vehicles. I am neither a professional mechanic, nor a competent one, so I invite you to laugh and learn at my pain while I inevitably screw up everything I work on and most likely do things the wrong way. I also hope to mix in some how to's, and inexpensive tool reviews to help any other shadetree mechanics watching. Thanks and have a great day.
@@jasoncharles6980 The fronts will only go on one way. As for the backs, I believe they can be installed either way. It doesn't affect the shock dampening. I just preferred the look of the boot on top.
I wonder if either your tools have tighter specs than normal, or Bilstein thinned the paint on those parts in recent years, I had zero trouble getting tools and the locknut over it. Great video, was just what I was looking for.
I would like to, but a lot has changed in the last few years, including a cross country move. Unfortunately I'm not in a position, currently, to make more videos. I will keep my channel up so people can take advantage of the videos I do have however.
For those of us that are week end garage warriors could you go over any precautions taking springs off and placement of the jacks and stands to be safe. thanks.
Light coating of grease on the hubs is fine. I typically do that everytime so it's easier to remove in the future for maintenance or brake work. Alternatively you could just use gear oil lube and just coat everything. It's not going to hurt a thing. I've taken apart some very rusty corroded hubs so assembling dry makes zero sense to me.
@@STBRetired1 I bought it off Amazon if I recall correctly. I don't remember the exact price, but I believe it was pretty close to the current Amazon price.
Thanks and your video just answered another question that had me worried. In some pictures, like those supplied by USA Standard on the Amazon site, the locker looks to be a dark almost black metal. For a second, one view in your video also appeared to show a dark metal. But as you moved the part around then I could see that it was actually the bright, shiny silver color that all lunchbox lockers seem to have. Thanks again.
Very informative and entertaining. The 'stuff' at the bottom you cleaned out, priceless. I have to, don't want to, do this on my '90 Bronco, so I will be coming back to watch this again. I wonder if the bolts to mount the bracket could be glued/spot welded in place so don't have to get a d@mn wrench in there to help tighten. I don't have meat claws but that looks annoying as hell to tighten. Engineers/designers drive me crazy sometimes. Great video!
I'm glad I was able to help. Honestly getting a wrench back there isn't too hard, especially if you don't have fat hands like me. Whichever way you decide to go, I wish you luck. 👍👍
Nice job. Same problem on my 1996 f150. Tried junkyard parts but now im going to go all out and use the ninnernet? With the wifes help and amazon myself into this space age parts world.
I've been watching some of your videos, and you're hilarious, thanks for the help and thanks for the laughs. Hope you and your family are holding up well, God bless you and your son.
I’m just trying to stop laughing with the “wearing gloves” and “eyes protection” that I really don’t mine to !🤭 With all those advices, after a fresh fries burp !😅😅 Awesome! Tonight I will try to fix my new grant wheel, cause, even if I’m having belly pain right now, your video is full of good instructions!! Thank you very much!
If you have the old one, you can try to cross reference the part number on the bearing. Otherwise you can try to get one out of a junk truck from a junkyard. I hope this helps.
I absolutely enjoyed your video. I not only learned how to replace the window mechanism, but you had me laughing out loud at time with your comments. Loved it!!
Thanks man! I've done a lot of work but never put front springs on. I'll be doing my 89 F-150 tonight. Loved the use of a sock foot to hold the shock absorber in place. You're keeping it real!
Thank you and God bless. These are great and fun! Hope things are going well and you Bible reading fruitful! Remember folks to read daily and grow your Spirit and mind.
