Hi, Graciela! Thank you so much for watching my video and commenting on it even though you aren't keeping up with the show! May I ask what in particular you can't stand about the show? Also, may I ask which of my comments in particular you like (or did you just mean you like my thoughts in general)?

@@cordwiley688Hi, Cord! 😊 You simply made it look so interesting that I wanted to know why season 4 is so heavy and dark like Game of Thrones 😂. Buy as I said, I don't like this series for many reasons. Some of them I got when I was watching, some reasons I've seen pastors saying and now I'm watching a video called "The Chosen não é o que você pensa" from the Channel "Fé e Tulipas". I haven't finished watching but basically it summers up all my frustrations and brings it up new things I didn't notice. You should watch it :). I subscribed in your channel and I hope you get a lot more subscribers. Jesus bless you

Appreciate this! Yes, these episodes are bittersweet, but let's not overlook some of the joyous moments in these episodes! :) (And no, not going much into the Book of Acts in these 7 seasons)

DALLAS JENKINS! OMG! I fangirled SO hard when I saw you commented on my video! Thank you so much! I'm sorry for taking so long to respond. You're right about the joyous moments. I appreciated those too but I just forgot to mention them in the video. Beside the Gaius moment in episode 4, I also quite liked the realistic musical numbers we got throughout these episodes. The reenactment of the Hannukah story was pretty good too.

I’m pretty sure Season 5 will take place over a week leading up to the Last Supper and End with Jesus’s arrest. Dallas has also said season 6 will be the crucifixion….so i think most of season 6 will take place during a time when Jesus is dead leading to Resurrection with season 7 dealing with His final days with the disciples and other followers before His ascension!!

That makes sense.

@@feloniusdude1698 That could be interesting. But….i think the Book of Acts is worthy of a show like a Chosen. I think the Chosen is more interested the people Jesus affected while He was on earth so I honestly think the series could end with the Ascension….or possibly Pentecost
@cordwiley688
@cordwiley688 3 месяца назад
@@seanyonthemic I think Pentecost is too far into Acts. If they're not doing Acts (which, in case you didn't already see his comment on this video, Dallas confirmed they're not going very far into), it seems most logical that this show will end with the ascension. However, as I'm thinking about it, ending with Pentecost would be a good way for them to end the show focusing on "the chosen" as the name of the show implies rather than just on Jesus himself without having to end on a downer with all their deaths. Although I suppose they could do what History Channel's "The Bible" did and end with the revelation to John. That way, they can complete the stories of "the chosen" and still end on a positive, hopeful note.

@@seanyonthemic Also, I think you might find it amusing to know that I had to do a double take when I was notified you commented on my video because for a second I thought it said Sean Astin.

Let's hope in continues through Acts. It *IS* called "The Chosen"; it's not called "The Life of Jesus", or "The Gospel Story". The "chosen" all continue through Pentecost, a la the book of Acts.

I watched it in theaters last night, Episodes 4-6 in my opinion were substantially better written episodes than 1-3. Particularly episode 4 was my favorite, followed by 6 & then 5. (Although I LOVED the character setups [i.e. Judas & Thomas] & slowed down moments during E5)

At this point, I don't remember 1-3 well enough to really comment on the writing of them but I agree that the writing on these episodes was fantastic, especially regarding how they're setting up Thomas's potential reaction to *SPOILER ALERT FOR THE BIBLICALLY ILLITERATE* Laz's resurrection.

So the supernatural issue is the problem? Does that make Thor null and void? Same for the Guardians of the Galaxy. The tesseract, infinity stones and their creation multiple millennia ago definitely falls into the supernatural realm. Let us not forget that Doctor Strange went from being just human to being the Sorcerer Supreme using powers considered miracle-like and not affecting other humans when using astral projection. It’s a comic turned into a series of movies for entertainment purposes only. Star Trek only touches on the existence of God in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier while Star Wars abandons the idea of one God in lieu of using the force by the Jedi to become a trans dimensional entity after death or turning to the dark side facing eternal damnation, that is if you don’t repent at the last moment, accept your sins upon others and then turn into a trans dimensional being like fellow Jedi. You can also be a nonbeliever (Han-who said it was a hokey religion with an all powerful force throughout the universe) and transcend or a killer of billions, and still have the ability to raise the dead like Kylo did with Rey. It’s fantasy, not real, certainly not based on past and current doctrine of the Christian religion. Additionally, books, movies and other media that deal with the paranormal, possession by evil or the practice of demonic rituals, (while partially in a very minute way is based on actual accounts and hearsay) it is fear of the unknown, slight of hand trickery and total lack of physical evidence or proof that opens the imagination of either those seeking hard facts or pure escapism through storytelling. Echo is fantasy. A good story line. Effectively acknowledging the Indigenous Community the same way Black Panther and Shang Chi did for a fake, all black African Nation and Asians respectively.

I'm not saying I don't like fantasy elements in anything or that I think media that portrays any religious worldview other than Christianity is bad. If it works for the story being told (which I think it does with all the examples you gave), I'm totally on board for fantasy and non-Christian worldviews. Regarding Echo in particular, I actually do enjoy that her Choctaw heritage is part of the story. I just feel that the focus the show is giving to the supernatural (particularly in giving Maya literal superpowers) is taking away from what is otherwise a pretty solid, gritty revenge drama about the complicated and violent relationships between regular humans (although I'm BARELY letting them get away with Kingpin surviving a bullet to the face). PS: Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! These are exactly the kinds of conversations I'm hoping to have through this channel! Thanks for engaging with me! Please don't hesitate to share any more thoughts you may have.
