Colour is all wrong, the lower hull should be slate grey not red, and the upper hull above the boot line (which is the only thing the correct colour) should be a dark blue/grey. The forward half of the boat deck should be red/brown corticene, a linoleum paint. This model colourwise represents the ship as it was in about 1931 which is all wrong as it still had its 5.5 inch turrets then. I suggest the excellent HMS Hood Association website for a full explanation of Hood's colour scheme in May 1941.

Why is the bottom painted red? According to the Hood Society and every thing else I have read, it was never any other colour than gray!

Excellent work, i have built trumpeters Hood in 1/350, one or two flaws but otherwise an excellent kit, i have read somewhere that Hoods lower hull was painted a dark grey or black,never red, i think it was in the Hood association blog.
