@@SteveMacDidThis I thought it would be a year at least, which set me up for next year and I was happy. But when I saw 4 months I was on the phone so fast! I'm doing Red with Silver top. Lily said she didn't think they'd ever done one. Now I'm questioning it lol. And the delivery price is OUCH, but I can't drive to Minnesota. Was hoping that it would be included for the $$$ price. But I want it, so I cannot complain. END OF SEPTEMBER WOOT :D
I love the exterior more than any other teardrop trailer. The color is stunning. Vintage and classy. Stunning teardrop trailer. These are my Top 5 teardrops. How could I decide? 1) Vistabule 2) Black Bean 3) CampInn 4) High Camp 5) Escapod Topo 2. Geeze. They're all so different. All are excellent. Each has positives and negatives.
Features and Price. I don't want a TV or a toilet etc, but I like nice touches, so I want a Vistabule. I like the Mood LIghting. If I wanted to spend twice the price, I might get the Escapod Topo. Lots of nice features, but not worth an extra $20k to me. Both of these are the least complicated and value packed without gimmicks.
@@davidhunternyc1 I agree it's very nice. But dang, the side windows are the EXACT same ones that are in my horse trailer! Did you get the 560? It appears quite cozy and roomy.
@@youbetyourwrasse Ugh... I made a boo boo. I meant I like High Camp the best. I do love the Vistabule and Camp Inn too. I like High Camp the best because it's classic and built like a tank. There is only one trailer in the line. Also, I live in NYC. I tried thinking where I could park a teardrop and there's nowhere. Crime is getting worse and I don't want to spend $500 a month for parking. For now, I'll have to live vicariously through the community.
The bed is a little smaller than I had heard in other videos. Usually, it's said to be a full queen size, which is 60"x80" . That bed is just over 6 feet. (73") At 6'3", it would be too short for me, unfortunately. Nicely designed teardrop, though.
“On the fence post” sounds even worse than on the fence. 😜 Glad I could help. One thing we really don’t hear very often n this community is, “We just bought our Vistabule and we’re really regretting it.”
The bloopers are classic, especially all the failed takes on the shelf. Has me in stitches. Brilliant spontaneity. Oh yeah, great camper! Stylish rims indeed! Top notch construction with efficient, aesthetic, minimalistic, and clever design elements. Not surprised they sell so fast. Love this one and it’s certain to be one to gage the rest when it’s time to buy one.
No problem. I can’t believe I didn’t cover it in the tour. The compartment is made to hold a single AGM Gel or Lithium Battery. I was looking at the possibility of creating a larger compartment and it looks like it could be doable.
Without recharging the battery at all we have easily gone 5 days with a 115 aH battery (or was it 105?). If we were being careful, we could easily go a week. One of the main reasons we got a teardrop trailer is that we are CAMPERS. We were always prepared to strap on our headlamps and do without power. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, @Jacqueline. I wish I could promise that I will. I really enjoy making them, but I have a health issue that makes it really difficult to edit video. What used to take me 4 or 5 hours is now taking me weeks, if not months. I had edited a few of the recent ones over the last year and never posted them because I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to keep editing. When I ran across them I thought I might as well put them up. Like I said, I love creating them, but no promises. Thanks for the compliment.
Thanks, Bert! If I had cockles in my Burr I would want them warmed too. And there’s no better place than by a fire with you. Hope you had a good gathering.
@@SteveMacDidThis I thought about it but I like going there when the rhodies are blooming in spring. But I’m also heading for Grand Teton in a week and I’m not organized enough for that much travel back to back. LoL 😂
"the world has endured......." and then "George Floyd riots". OK, you don't see the problem? If anything displays the American-centric view of the world it was that ill-thought-through opening statement. How much impact do you think George Floyd riots had in, say China or India or New Zealand or Germany, let alone in Nigeria or Brazil or Botswana?
You are correct in that I didn't spend much time thinking about that opening statement. That's because I'm not a political channel. My videos are entertaining. They are informing...on the subject of teardrops, hiking, and the outdoors. I merely thought that it was insensitive to not at least mention what was going on in the world. At the same time, I wanted to put out a video DESPITE what was going on in the world. We needed it. Do I have an American-centric view of the world? Yes. Because I am an American. Even still, the George Floyd riots had an impact worldwide. There were riots in over 60 countries on all 7 continents. Was it every country or region? Of course not. But the world took notice and stood in solidarity with America, standing against police brutality and racism.
@@SteveMacDidThis Thanks for that explanation. I would just point out that protests outside the USA were just that: protests. They weren't riots. I'd also point out that nothing has changed in the US. The police still act with impunity. Their training hasn't changed. Their oversight hasn't changed. Their chances of conviction haven't changed.
Hey Steve, you need to come to Missouri and to Vermont. Why these two places? Well In Missouri they got Katy trails and Truman Lake and also have the Ozarks, Vermont Well you have the Mountains and the weather is cool at night and warm in the day and the food is out of this world and the lakes are wow, and the rivers are fun and the fishing is always good.
Vermont is high on my checklist. My family is from Missouri. Beautiful area. I went there for the first time as an adult and loved it. I’d definitely love to do some camping in the Ozarks.
OK, I’ll tell you what it is. To get this 50’s teardrop to the present, the path led through the 70’s, and that’s where most designs got stuck. If you didn’t go through the 70’s yourself, I’ll tell you something about them. It was an era when anything was possible, when all sense of taste and proportion could be jettisoned, when the most gimcrack slogans would form the basis of design, when any two things you nailed together would be heralded as innovative design. That’s why most teardrop trailers have a MonstRWreX mil-GRip XN ultRoN 9000 dumBAss MoonUnit design aesthetic, with diamond embossed floorplates, jerrycan and spare tire festooned walls for ultimate ugliness; the kind of trailer that someone could go and hunt for Osama Bin Laden in. When I look at a Vistabule, there isn’t a drop of Hummer aesthetic in them. It’s more of a Chris-Craft idea. The design was obviously thought up by someone who has taken a long time thinking about design, the relation of design to function and aesthetic, and design that brings its parts together holistically. In other words it’s a human-oriented design that works. The fit and finish is essential to deliver on the promise the thoughtful design makes. That’s what I like about the Vistabule.
Yeah, you have to get into the slightly larger sizes for that. I tHink I’d have to debate you though. There’s nothing better than standing under the galley door cooking in the great outdoors.
Maybe I misunderstood. You don’t have access to the galley as in you can’t GET INTO the galley. But you can REACH the galley and grab a cup of coffee or your toothbrush.

Yeah I have yet to see one exported out of the US aside from Canada. Vistabules are hand built in Minnesota, and I highly doubt they are going to give out a set of DYI plans. These are their bread and butter. Cheers.
Thank you for the compliment. Please make sure to watch them all as I get a penny for each one you watch. An imaginary penny, but still. I hope to make more of them but I need to focus on healing right now. Watch this video again and notice my dangling right arm. I am hoping to recover and be able to create videos again because I love making them, and apparently you at least like watching them. 😃
During the pandemic the value went up, as did the wait time for a new one. We sold it for substantially more than we paid for it three years earlier. I explained some other reasons in the video. The price was obviously right based on how fast it sold. There are a lot of more expensive teardrops out there, less expensive too. A “bed in wheels”? Did you miss the part about the galley? All of the storage areas? The water system? The electrical system? It’s a complete camping solution for us, and for the quality and craftsmanship in the Vistabule, I think it’s great way to go. If you’re happy in a tent on the ground, then that’s the way for you to go. We all put value in different things for different reasons.
