Omg I’ve been looking for information about this type of pouring everywhere! There’s is zero out there. This is amazing and gorgeous!!Thank you!!! Can u pls do more🙏🏽❤️
Suggest anyone wanting to try this that you start it just as night is falling, then you can take your time with the application and positioning, it will allow time to dry, and you don't have to wrestle with a cardboard box in one hand! Lovely result, Linda - enjoying your projects. 😁
Thank you so much for this video... you are very relatable. I am a new painter (3 yrs), and I was feeling the same way that you were feeling about giving up! I now know that I am not alone. You have shown me a lot of ways to correct, hang in there, and not give up. I love your finished painting. I am currently working on my painting but now have renewed faith that I will complete it. Once again, thanks and I will stay tuned.
Thank you so much for watching and leaving a kind comment. It means a lot to me! Sticking with it is hard sometimes and I'm glad I helped you stick with your painting. Let me know if you have any questions for me. Linda
Yes, I use this technique in my paintings on canvas. I just found your channel, (my lucky day) and had to leave a note of appreciation. I’m a retired jazz musician and composer and completely new to making visual art but I feel like this is a second Spring for me creatively! Thank you for your generosity and talent, it means a lot to a beginner. I look forward to following you and spreading the word about your channel to my friends in art.
Thank you so much. Your kind words really mean a lot to me! Have fun painting and if you have any questions along the way let me know. I’ve taught for a long time and love helping people in the journey of self expression.
That's the most frequently asked question "Can this be used on canvas?" The answer is YES! You can see how I use it in my paintings on canvas in these videos. I use Speedball Water Soluble Block Printing Inks www.dickblick.com/products/speedball-water-soluble-block-printing-inks/ I go into greater detail in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MeLOiUVLYw8.htmlsi=AJJj0vj9tGp-XqtN Thanks for watching and leaving a kind comment!
Hello, It is slightly raised if the medium is thicker. I used it in this painting and if you run your hand over it some areas are slightly raised. It's the final layer in this case so it's a nice effect of looking like real ice. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GHvOCQx28P8.htmlsi=dbPO9oO5r0j5Q3sj Thanks for watching!
You're welcome. I plan to keep playing around with refillable markers and see what happens with them in my work. I wanted to try them because I do a lot of drawing with paint markers on painted papers for collage. If you're interested you can watch one marker drawing video here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zLBdWrBRNxw.htmlsi=fgM4rTBR7BuVU35r and here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T7kuAJPOFYI.htmlsi=3xt8V-iFUEcIbFMY Thanks for watching!
I hear what you mean. I think it's that I used music that I didn't have the correct license for so it got stripped out. I think most of my voiceover is still there it's just the music isn't. Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment!
I'd recommend using spray paint for 3 dimensional objects because it stays put. This video shows the technique with spray paint at 10:41. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BaAMpEfC4iY.htmlsi=eN9-MLQyVPaEKlNS Thanks for watching.
@@LindaCelestianI see where you are going with this idea… but sometimes too much thinking makes abstracts that can look stiff…. I have found when we train our intuition muscles…we get to know where to put the elements instinctively … no fear and without second guessing. Check out Fulton in his RU-vid art whisperer vids.. He works in this very way with his intuitive collage pieces. Cheers and thanks for sharing.
I see his process is very different than mine. His is a lot like my painting process. Do something then react to it in the next layer, but like I said collage affords you the ability to play around with something before you glue it down. You are still trusting your intuition or yes things can get forced and stiff. I totally agree. Thanks for watching.@@jdmosaics
I started making the short color mixing videos just to see if I could do it. They are really fun to do but you actually have to try and match what you are seeing through the camera not what your eye picks up so very tricky. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
@LindaCelestian wow thats really cool. I am really blown away by the talent. It is amazing. But I understand that it could be hard to match with the camera when you are looking with your eyes. It looks really difficult. So I'm amazed you could do something like this. Anyway, keep up the good work. Oh and yw.
It is still visible 3 months later. It got darker so the contrast between the leaves and the background is slight. It was fun as a pop up art installation because a bunch of Ash trees got diseased and had to be cut down in my neighborhood. This is on a public path so some people got to see it before weeds grew up around it. Some people suggested I should have sealed it. Who knows if that would do anything to preserve it or not.
I am so glad to have discovered your videos! I work at a mental health hospital and even tho I taught art for many years, I'm always looking for projects that they can enjoy. You have reinforced ideas I've tried and given me new ideas. Abstraction is the way to go when working with a diverse group that have varying abilities. Best way to experience the all the elements and materials and create exciting images.
Thank you so much for leaving a comment. This makes me so happy to know you found ideas to use. That is why I make videos because art is for everyone, and making art is for everyone. Anyone can make something beautiful and it can make them feel good while doing it. Have a great day!
Hello, I'm not sure what happens when you mix spirit/alc with acrylic paint. I don't think they are compatible so it would be more like oil and water than watering down the paint. It would be something you could experiment with. As far as doing this technique on wood, yes as long as the wood is sealed with a base coat first. Could be a clear coat or opaque. The layer used with plastic wrap needs to puddle not seep into the wood to create the effect. Good luck.
@@LindaCelestian Hello and thanks for your answer! I found out you can actually mix alc and acrylic paint. It becomes really runny and the paints seem to blend a bit to a pulp colour-wise. Other than that, it does work to thin them down. I'm a luthier and thought this might look amazing as a finish. I will make some test pieces! Thanks again!
I could have but then it wouldn't have turned out as cool as it did with fade out color on each side of the design. I love them and they never get mixed up with all the other black eye glass cases in the world. Thanks for watching!
New to acrylic painting, (painting in general) and love this technique. I enjoy the unique types out of the ordinary. styles. This is great and looking forward to trying this.
@LindaCelestian can you help me understand better the application of the white to create the broken glass effect. I got a lot of texture but don't see the effect. The first try I didn't wait for black to dry and ended up with just black texture. The next try I waited, added the white and covered wirh plastic wrap but again only have texture no broken glass effect. HELP!!!
@@cilenebosch3806 I hope I can help. Wait for the black to fully dry. The white should be mixed with something to water it down but not so watery that it will dry transparently. You want it to be slightly transparent but still white to get the effect. Does that make sense? It's hard to tell when the paint is wet, whether it will dry transparent or not. If that is what is happening then add more white paint to your mixture. I use the same technique in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--EEaB5H9HDs.html and this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GHvOCQx28P8.html
Wonderful! I loved seeing your photos. So much beauty. I love to travel and have not been able to for awhile. It I is such a joy with inspiration everywhere. Enjoyed your marker drawings, as well. Best to you.👋🏻🙂
Thanks you! Travel is a fun way to infuse yourself with inspiration and you never know how it will affect your work whatever kind of artwork you make. You really can get inspiration from your own backyard as well. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much. It's nice to know that you enjoyed watching this. I am fluid with the drawing from a lot of practice on painted papers, even working on scraps of paper and then making them into collages or greeting cards. It's a really fun way to draw. I used to call it doodling but it's just drawing abstractly. You just have to give yourself permission to do it and see what comes out of the process.
