I'm Luke, welcome to my channel. I live in the Pacific Northwest, an outdoor sports paradise. I love hiking, camping, paddling, biking, skiing, and climbing, but I'm not particularly good at any of them. These videos chronicle my (mis)adventures in the Great Outdoors of the PNW and abroad.
During the pandemic lockdowns, I picked up a new hobby; making videos, which resulted in this channel. In spring 2020 I made my first video; backcountry skiing at Mount Rainier. I shot it with a GoPro 8 camera and edited it with the GoPro app. Since then, I've upgraded to a pair of GoPros (10 & 11), a Skydio 2+ drone, and I'm editing with Final Cut Pro. It's been a big learning curve, but also a fun journey figuring out how to make each video better.
According to the Urban Dictionary Luke Warm is defined as: 1) Not hot 2) Uninspiring. I'm an average outdoor athlete and these are my amateurish adventures. If I can do it, so can you. I hope my videos get you stoked to get out there too.
The 520 trail (and Eastrail too) also connects to the Cross Kirkland Corridor, which is also a gravel pavement. It now spans all the way through Kirkland and connects with Sammamish River Trail at 124th st, almost at Woodinville.
I did the Lake Washington loop nearly 20 years ago when I lived in Seattle, in a clockwise direction, starting and ending in Greenwood, where I lived at the time. It wasn't as hard as I expected, but also not super easy. A bit of climbing on the east side from what I recall. But it was a similarly beautiful, warm and sunny day and I really enjoyed it. I did it alone and think it would be more enjoying doing it with others. The only part I didn't care for was in Renton, which is away from the lake and pretty built up, and a bit confusing to navigate. Btw that bike store just off the Burke-Gilman near UW at the start of the video used to be Ti Cycles, which is where I got my bike checked over and its headset installed after I built up the rest of it myself, not long before I did the Lake Washington loop. Do they still have an air compressor outside to get free air for your tires? I must have passed by it hundreds of times in my years in Seattle. Great cycling city.
Thanks for sharing . Whistler in the summer is beautiful and after that hell. You wouldn't catch me driving a car for 3.5 hours. I would be in a brew pub and then a hot tub. Congratulations on your achievement !
I rode the Mercer Island -> Bellevue segment frequently when I was a kid. Moved out of the area about 20 years ago and only drive through once or twice a year. Definitely need to ride here again someday, even though I'm a mountain biker =) i can say I'm training for bikepacking ;) Thanks for taking me through the old neighborhoods!!
Awesome video, thank you. I did this ride yesterday and it was a great event. This was my first group ride and it was tough. I'm just getting into cycling and I'm looking forward to more rides.
