The ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) is a partnership of 20 universities in 16 African countries. It is aimed at strengthening the resilience of communities vulnerable to shocks and stresses in sub-Saharan Africa through university led-local African innovative solutions, using evidence-based approaches. The Network is led by Makerere University in Kampala Uganda and the secretariat is located at Makerere University School of Public Health. RAN's core partners include Tulane University’s Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy (DRLA), Stanford University and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). RAN is one of the eight Development Labs under the USAID’s Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN) in the U.S Global Development Lab.

Learn more about what RAN is doing to strengthen the resilience of target communities to the most pressing community challenges presenting as shocks and stresses (disasters).
