Happy to find your video, I want to do the same thing, go with 235/65-17, nice to see that they will work. I also plan to do an 1.5" lift at some point as well. I just added 20mm spacers to fit some Crosstrek rims that had a different off set, they are now flush with the wheel well, looks way better.
.30-06 chambered 742s are best fed ammo that is similar to military ball for peak gas port pressure. Those rifles proved to be a bit delicate when it comes to hot ammo with slow burning powders that have excessive gas port pressures. It just beats them to death. Proper hand loaded ammo is much kinder to them.
I love mine!! Added a fiberglass pistol grip stock, leupold scope, its a deer killing monster for sure!! Mine doesnt have the "plug" either, so itll hold 5
What the heck! I'm not sure if this video helps or hurts the 742's reputation. I have a 740 in .30-06 that belonged to my dad. I've never actually needed the second shot. If the gun is cleaned correctly it runs fine...mostly..but sometimes it will experience a failure to eject. So while it might be comforting to have a back up shot....you can't count on it.
Hate to be that guy but a 12 gauge and a 20 gauge are just as powerful, the difference is that the 12 will throw more lead at the target. If you compare a number 6 load, 12 vs 20 they throw the shot the same velocity, its just that there is less of it in a 20 Choke also has a lot to play as well, Paul Harrell has a good video on 20 guages
پدر من این سلاح را دارد و من با همین سلاح پرنده گراز و دیگر چهارپایان را شکار میکردم،البته الان چند سال است دیگر حیوانی را نمیکشم، تیراندازی تفریحی انجام میدهم
Nice video mate, however the bolts you need are a plowbolt, they have a square head and will avoid movement and eliminate the need for loctite if tightened.
My only problem with the scout carry is how far it sticks out, but I only did it quickly to see what it looked like, I didn’t try it for a longer period of time. My goal was to find a way to carry it concealed and the scout carry wasn’t quite that for me. I may try to go that route when I get bored of this setup though
I don’t know where this is coming from but where I’m at concealing a fixed blade knife is a felony,, it’s okay worn on the hip in the open but not hidden
Where I’m from, there’s no law distinguishing concealed vs open regarding a knife. There’s also no limit to length, just certain places you can’t take one such as court and places like that or unless otherwise prohibited
