Welcome to my channel! I create videos to discuss my favorite hobby, cross stitching, plus there are tutorials if you’re interested in learning how to cross stitch yourself. I want you to relax and experience the enjoyment of creativity (whether you stitch or not.) Pour yourself a cup of your favorite beverage, pull up a chair, and spend a few minutes with me indulging in this wonderful needlework art form.
You’re welcome! A French knot rose would look great for sure. I don’t do ribbon embroidery, but I agree with you. I may need to learn how to do that now! 😁 Thanks for the idea!
just found you tonight and watched your tutorial. I am very happy to have found it cause I have really wondering how the Floss Drops were used. Thank you very much for the info.
Congratulations on 1k!!!! What amazing kids you teach. It was great to see you too! Thank you for the amazing shout out. Purple is my favorite color too. I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. Sending you lots of love.
Thank you, Paula! I appreciate it. It’s nice to know that we’re color pals. When the painter was painting my craft room, he made some kind of snarky comment to our contractor. I told the contractor that the painter’s job was to paint, not add unsolicited commentary. I love the wall color even more than I did when I selected it. ☺️💜
@@thecrazycrossstitchlady I'm so sorry that is awful. My childhood room was painted just a few shades lighter than yours is now. I loved it. It was a sad day when my parents painted it grey.lol
I'm sorry about your Dad. Just be kind to yourself while you deal with the loss. I'm doing two full coverages but they're in time out while I work on a couple of other items. But I want to get back to them. I do park but I'm not too fond of it. At least with full coverage, they use so much close shading that you can make a mistake and no one will ever know.
Thank you so much for your kind words. They help. ☺️ Yes, that’s one of the beauties of full coverage - mistakes are easier to hide or fudge. I can tell you that I have several mistakes in my Michael Jackson piece, but no one will know. I’m restarting the two I’m currently working on. Thankfully I hadn’t gotten far on either one. I feel better about them now. Happy stitching on your current pieces and for when you’re ready to get out your full coverage ones again! 😁🪡
Hi Carla! Love all the information! Thank you! I must order Blue Rhapsody. It's gorgeous. Thanks for the reminder about railroading. Until next time, enjoy your stitching time 🌷
Thanks, Cynthia! Glad you enjoyed it! Looking forward to your next FlossTube (I try to keep a rotation going - especially with so many new ones joining us! ☺️) Happy stitching! 🩷🪡
Great update!! I always learn something new every time!! Congrats on 1k!! I love that your students rallied together to get you to that thrilling milestone!! - My favorite part of Spring is the blooming of the Lilac bushes! Oh, how I love that amazing smell in the spring air!!
I enjoy the flowers of Spring. Tulips, daffodils, and crocus from bulbs. Azaleas and lilacs from bushes and the blossoming fruit trees. The earth smells so good when Spring arrives.
Great catching up with you today and love seeing your progress on your wips! Thank you for sharing all the beautiful 🤩 patterns. I love Spring because time for planting flowers and seeing everything bloom love working in my garden 🪴. Great haul love the patterns. Have a wonderful weekend and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
The 502 stitcher came on this morning and she mentioned your channel. Thank you so much for doing the tutorial on the Algerian eyelet and Smyrna cross. You were very clear and precise easy to understand.
Thank you! I haven’t had a chance to watch her latest one yet, but I mentioned her on the one I’m getting ready to upload. 😂 I’m glad the tutorial was helpful to you. Thank you so much for watching! ☺️🪡
We have one in Elizabethtown called Heartland Stitchers that meets once a month, and there’s one in Leitchfield called Bluegrass Stitchers. They both have Facebook groups if you’re interested. ☺️
First let me say how sorry I am for your loss. It is so difficult to lose a parent but it’s equally difficult to see them sick and in pain. I hope your mother is doing okay as well as your family. Very informative video. I’m going to be starting my first full coverage soon, so all the info I can get is helpful. Thank you for explaining the full cross stitch and the half cross stitch (I think you called it a tent stitch). I will do a sample of the stitches to see what I’m most comfortable with and what would work best for my piece. Oh and I must say, your Michael Jackson is amazing! It certainly does look like a photo. Beautiful job.
Thank you for your kind words. We’re all doing okay. Not great, but okay. I’m so glad you got a lot of info from the video. I hope it helped you get more comfortable with trying full coverage. I appreciate the compliment about MJ. Definitely a labor of love! Thank you for watching, and let me know how your stitching goes and if you have any questions for me. I have a playlist of tutorials, too, if you need them. Happy stitching! ☺️🪡
Second video of yours that I’ve watched today. I enjoyed the story of your students getting you over the milestone marker on your channel. I’m currently stitching a Pigeon Coop design so yes, I’d already heard of him. I’m doing Blooming Swan which is a SAL with some UK stitchers. I think he has a book coming out too. I like that his designs are different. The ones you bought are so nice. Happy stitching Margaret
I appreciate your watching! I hope my videos bring you joy. Yes, the kids are endless sources of entertainment and stories. 😂 It’s great that you’ve got a Pigeon Coop design! I told myself that I had to finish all my WIPs first, but I’d really, really like to start one of his, so I may break my own rule. (The cross stitch police haven’t found me yet, anyway.) 🤣 Seeing all the stitch groups in the UK made me search for stuff in the US. I bought Cross Stitch Crazy magazine and was so disappointed when they stopped producing it.
Thank you so much for the video. It was suggested to me by RU-vid as I’d been searching for tips on how to get started on a full coverage design. I learned a lot and hope to start soon although I’m still dithering on fabric. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear father. I hope your stitching brings you comfort at a very sad time. Margaret
Thank you, Margaret! I’m happy to have been of help, and thank you for your lovely comments about Dad. It will be difficult for a while, but thankfully I have my stitching. If you have any specific questions as you begin, please feel free to ask. You can comment here or my email is crazystitchlady@outlook.com. Happy stitching! ☺️🪡
9:30 - Creases from using bobbins do not bother me either as I always made sure I wound the floss flat with no twists. However I’m curious if you ever tried steaming the wrinkles out; whether that would work or not. I ordered a set of acrylic floss drops online, but am wondering if storing them would be a challenge. The plastic bobbin storage cases are just so convenient. Keeps them organized and dust/bug free and they stack nicely.
I haven’t tried steaming them out, but running them over damp sponges is a lot easier. I’ve never had any bleeding from that and they dry very fast. But I like using the drops so much better and have used them for a while now. I doubt I’ll go back to bobbins. Storage can be an issue, but I hang mine on Command hooks in my closet. You could also put them on clothes hangers. Thank you for your comment. I’m glad there are several ways to store floss that will meet the individual needs of stitchers. ☺️
This is a fantastic video, you explain everything so well. The last example of the dmc thread reminds me of when you use two colours, one strand of each. If you had the right colour it would look amazing on the roof of a house. Like a house that is under a tree and the sunlight is shining through the trees and creating that random light and dark. I hope I am making sense, sorry if I'm not
Thank you so much! I’m glad it’s helpful. You make perfect sense - I know exactly what you’re talking about. Blended threads are awesome for creating various looks. It just goes to show how creative we can be with the simple use of a few colors. Thank you for watching! ☺️
Ooh, I never thought about that! I have one. Do you just put it on the lowest heat setting? I do find that the floss slides off much better when I've put on a new skein versus when I unwrap one from a bobbin and put it on the drop.
Awesome! Thank you for joining me! Glad you enjoyed the visit. Thank you, I couldn’t believe it when I actually saw the 1K. It means I get to have fun with more stitchers! ☺️🪡 Ooh, I see you also have a channel. I’ll check yours out!
I’m still not over that Michael Jackson. Goes to show how cross stitching on Aida looks just as magnificent as linens or evenweaves. You’re an excellent teacher. Great tip on downloading in jump drives/flash drives. I don’t have many but I’ll do just that. Can’t wait to see progress on your Lincoln project. Thx for the videos. Lovely stitching😊
Thank you so much! That’s very kind of you to say! I’ve never stitched with the Thread-Bare program before so I’m a little nervous. I’ll be glad to see Lincoln’s face and know whether or not it looks pixelated. I have all of my pdf patterns in a folder on my drive now. It was a fairly costly lesson, but I know better now. 😏 Glad to hear that you liked the idea! ☺️
Pull a length about the length of your arm (or to your elbow) fold in half. Put the "cut" ends of your folded through the eye of your needle. Bring your threaded needle up through your fabric; dive down and go through the loop on the back of the fabric and tighten, gently. Also, you could try the front maneuver where you go down, first and have the loop on the top of the fabric and pull it through via the other corner. I have a hard time explaining that one.
If you go to the 10:30 mark or so it shows how to make the loop, and then at about the 16:00 mark I show how to start it with a stitch. This is from my series on teaching how to cross stitch. Hope this helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Mx0Rnbw2Eqg.htmlsi=gh7E0TB15ZHtjKjt
Great video enjoyed catching up with you today and thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us it’s very helpful. Sending prayers your way during this time. Have a wonderful Thursday and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
Hi Carla! I love the story about your students! I didn't know about 123 Stitch! Love Blue Rhapsody. Purple is pretty. Another nice flosstube. Take care ♡
Thank you, Cynthia! Isn’t it great about 123stitch? 😃 I appreciate your encouragement and support. I’m working my way through my channel subscriptions. Looking forward to watching your latest. ☺️🪡
That floss cutting board is very clever! I would totally buy one of those. Your floss drop cards are also a genius move. Love it, thank you for sharing and being so thorough. 🤗💞
Thank you so much! My husband made that board. I told him what you said and he’s flattered. Making the floss drops has saved me a lot of money (that can be used on patterns 😁.) I’m glad you found it useful!
@@thecrazycrossstitchlady Aww Im glad you told him. But seriously if he makes a shop I bet theres more out there like me. I like gadgets. Have a wonderful day.
