I like how your not afraid to tear it down (even when its basically put together because its not what you envisioned) and build it back up again 👍. When i was your age I got an earfull from others " why did you break it! " or " you should have left it , and just built another one ! " and i admit it got to me at times . Only advice i can give to you is You are the creator ...and a project is never finished or right until You say it is . But you apparently already know that 👌. Keep at your craft youngster . You are a creator
Great video Brandt. I am interested in hobby welding and have been searching RU-vid for how to videos. I have a lot of old had tools and scrap metal stock. Some of the metal scrap i have is hardened steel, i think. Do you have to super heat the hardened steel to make it softer to weld? And another question is i have old hand tools that I cant tell if they are cast iron tools or steel, like old pipe wrenches and some very old spanners, not sure how i would tell what is what until I eventually start the welding process and notice it didn't weld properly. I purchased a new Hobart 210 welder but have not been able to get the 220v electrical hookup installed yet so in preparation I am searching through the tube looking for ideas and tips on how to begin hobby welding. I like your forge. I am contemplating if i should invest in an acetylene tank or finding/building a forge. Does yours run off propane? Is there a good web site or welding forum you would recommend for learning how to make metal crafts? Thanks.
At 3:12 I thought he was trying to show us his hand. So even though in the next second he gave us a close-up of the piece, all I could think of was that gnarly old blister!
some very nice looking welds, shows some training and a willingness to learn to do aa good job. Happy I learned about you from Gridlessness. Hoping to learn if some of your work is for sell......
I have y done any forge work since junior high many moons ago but I feel like you should be wearing a pair of leather gloves. Haha. Love your work. Keep it up 👍
Lol, as I watched you put the air filter on I'm thinking "well that's going to be funny". But who hasn't done something like this. If someone says they have never done it, they are lying. 😂 looking good Brandt. You'll have more fun on something you built yourself.
Fantastic. First thing I looked for in the first minute was those threads. Clean and not too worn. Screw box looks good. Everything else can be fixed if needed but screw and box are the big deals
The fact that someone my age has this much cool stuff, and that its so much cooler than my stuff, is really annoying to me. Like bro has a workshop. I have a shed, and its mostly filled up with a lawnmower.
You got a great vise there ! Dont forget to put grease on the screw and pack the screw box aka the bell thing. That is the number one thing people forget to do and it ruins the thread every time you tighten it without lubrication. Do that and you should have that vise for life, it had almost no wear on the screw from what i saw
Great vice. Nicely done. I have one very similar in a shed awaiting the same treatment. First I need a workshop. Good stuff. 👍 P.S. On a previous video I commented, "Keep it at", which makes no sense. Meant to say, "Keep at it"! 🤪😂
Later I got to try this out for real, and turns out there are actually multiple rocks I could get spark with right in my driveway. I got some pretty decent spark with some agate and I think it was some kind of quartz.
If I go to woods I always bring a 4 pack of lighters and some other stuff to start fires so u fools keep doing it hard way I will have fire started before u guys even get ur stuff our of packs
