I lived 6 doors down from the Belushi’s. (Wheaton IL.) When John was around 11, Wes Craven lived kitty corner from the Belushi’s. He was living off campus at Wheaton College. Wes was bed ridden and couldn’t walk for a bit while in college. Bored, he began to write. From our houses, Wes lived at the first house on the right. Coming from the other direction he lived at “The Last House on the Left” Wes’s first movie, a 1972 cult classic. He also created the character, Freddy Krueger. The street the Belushi’s and I lived on is Elm Street. Coincidence🤔
I saw a random show by the Ramones circa 1979 and it was unbelievable. I think they stopped serving alcohol at 2am and stayed open for a few hours after.
I was there. That was the Johnny Blitz Benefit that raised money for the Dead Boys' drummer who was stabbed and hospitalized (and charged with attempted murder!) Those were the days!
Alan "Mr Fabulous" Rubin made reference to Belushi's natural rhythm, never missed a cue, and that he thought he was a drummer. This is the only time I've ever seen him on the drums... no surprise, he did a fine job.
I came to that point where i realized the line...the threshold you want to cross and , fortunately i didn't , is death.. fortunately i stopped trying to find that 22 years ago.. John Belushi RIP
Interesting. I remember watching a mini doc on the Blues Brothers and one of those guys in the band talking about John's singing and mentioning that he had heard John used to play drums.
I came here to see john play drums and to check out some Dead Boys live performance. Every body already knows Belushi was a man of excess but not every one knows he was a drummer. I'd like to see this same footage without the narration.
To everybody complaining that this has been around for ages: you did a sht job at changing things for the better. Punk started what... in the 70s? So the people ho had time to actually do something ......kept on drinking for some decades and now are complaining? Good job everybody. Its the same with the hippies. People always do this sht. Its the same with climate change the only good thing about that, is the fact that everybody dies. Sorry for the tangent but humans repeating every mistake starts getting old.
