Great topic. I have been working remotely for 13 years so the pandemic wasn't an issue. But you're right! Not everyone can focus remotely. I'm used to it. 🙂
If all of our Jobs didn't involve ripping people off and exploiting everyone, perhaps this discussion wouldn't even be necessary, because it really doesn't fucking matter, at all, like not even a little bit.
We're glad that this webinar was helpful. We have an upcoming webinar on January 24, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. ET. You can register here: tm-cf.org/ScholarshipWebinarJan24. If you have specific questions, you can reach out to our scholarship team at scholarships@tmcf.org
I just started going back in on Wednesdays only. I’m happy my job created team events during Covid so I was comfortable meeting the team. But discipline is required. I learned I have to be home alone. To get work done from home. I don’t get distracted. But also being hybrid, I agree, gives me a chance to “show up” as me and not just my work ethic. My coworkers say I keep them entertained when I come in lol.
Its interesting because not code switching,(in terms of language ) doesnt mean you arent being respectful or reverent. For some reason african americans think aaev is downtrodden and ignorant when it really isnt. You code switch when you say things like "ask" instead of "axe" or "four" instead of "fo," And the reality is that you shouldnt have to do that to be respected or accepted.
I've studied English and it's linguistics for such a long time. And ppl should realize that just because you don't speak or write in standard, "proper" English doesn't mean you aren't as intelligent or worthy of acknowledgement as those who do.
And finally...your language is beautiful and it literally defines you. And when you change it, you do change who you are. So pick your battles like we all do
This is a dope move by TMCF! Excited to see y’all in this space! Jerrin is the guy to talk to! Lol He interviewed me for LI2017. I look forward to watching the journey of this. 🔥💯

This is a really good video. Understanding that proper clothes and attitude is the best way to get a job. Especially if you want to get a good paying job or a job you like, the way you dress can affect the way people view you.
