Glad I stumbled into this. Currently teaching intermediate school kids and they want current pop songs so this helps in the direction I have to give them to sing.
I'm actually gathering information on why instruments are not forbidden in Islam, and looking for humans intimating instruments as one of the evidences "in nature"
OMG! I’ve been trying to imitate a violin forever! I have the upright bass down pretty good, but I’m a freak and as a female …I sing bass. So imitating a bass is fun because I resonate naturally. I do have a bass question though, I tend to sing bass using a B…Bummmm Bummm. The B is appropriate sometimes however, when there are really long strokes, it doesn’t have a letter sound at all in front of it. It’s just mmmmm mmmmm, but more sub harmonic. Any suggestions on how to lose the B at the beginning ?
You worked with me when I was in Middle School in Bucks County, PA, and now here I am as my college's Arrangement Director trying to get better at this whole thing, LOL. Thanks Deke!
Can I share a clip of one of your videos to drive more traffic to your page? I create digital content for singers and singing teachers, and would love to share some of this information with people.
Yes, these tips all make sense! Thank you for creating an approachable and fun video. My women’s choir is doing a themed concert that unites human nature with Mother Nature, so I’m working on an arrangement of “Ring of Fire” and your videos are incredibly helpful for this a cappella-arranging novice! Thank you! Thank you!
Awesome content, man! Always strugled to write my 3 part vocal arrangements. These are very nice points. If anyone wanna check one of those, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qacTRrqjn_Q.htmlsi=1sQaZxz9i36cIihr
gearing up for my first icca's after being an acapella obsessed kid for the better part of a decade and returned to your channel; this exactly what i needed to hear
Our Sweet Adelines chorus sings an arrangement where the arranger wrote that it was arranged by him, but then underneath wrote "Inspired by a three-part version by Deke Sharon." I thought that was cool. And, I can think of one arranger who doesn't share Deke's attitude about making changes to his work, and he puts a statement about it at the end of his arrangements. Maybe others who don't want this could just say so, and we can assume it's OK to make some changes and interp to the rest. :)
