I started this RU-vid channel to record my dental school journey and enjoyed showing my experience to the world. Now as a dentist, I make informational videos to inspire pre-dental/dental students and provide oral hygiene tips to the general public. Come with me as I continue this journey! ❤️- Dentist Akosua
#4 DO-C, and as faculty at a large dental institution; I think its really great that dental students are on the receiving end of treatment, so they can understand that patients actually experience.
I'm so scared to go to the dentist. The lidocaine shots scared the crap out of me. I felt that needle when it hit my nerve. Just turn the gas up when I ask doc. I hear them questioning you doc. Nitrous oxide can make every fear you ever had about the dentist dissappear
Thank you very much for the info, its great to know this! I don’t have any community service on my curriculum but I’m really passionate about helping underserved communities do you think I still have a chance and what type of community service will you recommend i can do before applying? Im applying this year to dental school. Thank you
Love the video! Can you please make a video about what you had to do after graduating and how you stayed in the country (for the people who came from another country and took a 4yr)
I notice that you said you didnt work fridays. I also have the NHSC scholarship and know we need 40 hours a week ( 32 clinical and 8 admin hours). How does that work for you? like do you do admin work at home on fridays?
I plan on becoming a Dental Hygienist because I loved dental assistant class but realized Hygienist had a cool job. Also I'm 31 and don't want college to take forever. But if I was better at math then I would have loved to be a dentist. But I'm good with the hygienist route. 😁
Are you still working in a FQHC? Ive heard that at FQHC you don't do a lot if any crowns and are only doing extractions, fillings, dentures. If you aren't in the FQHC anymore. Did you have hard time adjusting?
I recently received the NHSC dental Scholarship and I have been bingeing your videos. I noticed you said you dont work most fridays. I was under the assumption we needed to work Mon-Friday. I just read up about the 8 hours of "admin work'. Are you able to do that at home on fridays? What kind of work does that entail? thanks so much love your videos
