I don't think I'd say that. The donors are much more expensive and then you also have to deal with direct injection. If I did it again I'd still get a supercharged donor and turbo it.
@@WOTclublsa g8 here aswell. Surprisingly same color lol. I’ve taken the motor out twice but never thought to do it with the blower on so was curious lol
Nice build man! I am putting in one of those aeromotive fuel pumps in mine too. I’m currently trying to figure out the wiring. If you don’t mind me asking… how did you wire yours? Did you re-use the stock wiring and just clipped off the connector?
Thanks! Oh man I wish I could remember exactly what I did for that but I believe I tapped into the stock pump power wire as a signal wire to a relay to allow the pump to draw as much power as it needed through a much larger wire.
Ours was the 3.0L V6 which worked pretty well for the first 2 but with the new rules and what others are running now you need the later 2000s 4.0L that makes significantly more power or you won't even stand a chance of winning.
These guy built a stupid tall oven for zero reason lol one of there most veiled videos and they powder coated some gears and then never made another video about powdercoat lol whyyyyh you could of just used the fucking oven for that smh did you guys ever do the banshee or the damn tractor cuss I’m guessing this was a failed project being you guys got more views in this oven then any other video what’s up with the fail videos I want to know what happened wrong so I don’t fuck mine up lol 😂 more content please
Shit, sorry I didn't see your comment sooner. We've used the oven for quite a bit of stuff, including the Banshee frame. The other parts have made it into some other videos but the oven wasn't the focus of those videos. Hopefully we can finish up the Banshee project soon because it's been on the back burner for wayyyy too long. As for the oven itself, we did almost everything right except the concrete sucks way too much heat out of the bottom so we got some uneven baking on some of the longer parts.
All the videos of this car, have it really slow and it sounds flat, like something is off, all the timing is pulled out in a tune or something. Something is off for sure. I've watched a few of them on this car.
@@WOTclub No I'm not opposed to certain Modifications. When someone like Johnathan Ward of ICON does modifications he does it with class and dignity and respect to the original designers. I have no issues with his types of modifications and reformers, but there are certain types of Mods that fall into a class of tackiness and trash and these lowered bagged cars IMO fall into that trashy class because they are destructive and counter to the original designers design..
I don't think putting airbags on a car changes anything about the car other than how far off the ground it is. If adjusting the ride height is tacky then lifting a vehicle would fall in the same group.
5:34 that moment I know, you were fuck@d... Dont drive manual, if you dont know how to use it. Never never never ever press cluch and drive in neutral, specially not in corner, a nd also specially not in breaking... You are not ready for that..
Grip is a function of contact patch. The wider your tires are and the less weight you have on them (Contact Patch/Weight), the less mechanical grip they're able to provide. If you ran a narrower tire you'd not only be able to increase your mechanical grip, but you'd actually be able to get some heat (and maintain it) in the tires.
I'm also unaware of anyone that has a standalone specifically for the LSJ but a lot of Honda guys use FuelTech so if I ever switch to a standalone I would look into them first.
Body Control Module. It controls everything that the PCM doesn't control like lights, locks, wipers, security, etc. The main reasons we retain it are for the factory Cobalt key and lights.
I used a bunch of parts from Summit Racing to make it a bolt on kit so I didn't have to do any modifications to the frame. I'll add a list of parts I used to the description!
Glad you saved it! I was looking at the moment you left the asphalt, and I didn't see the FR tire lock up, but i did see the back end kick out to the right. Rear bump steer when you climbed the curb? I'm not sure, but it looked scary heading for those trees! Good save, race on!
Downshift and letting the rpm come to idle and the letting it snap engage is why you spun out and one reason why youre losing time. Upshifting at 4krpm is another. This car could easily shave off the 9 seconds you needed if you were one with the beast.❤
To each their own as they say, but I agree they bastardize these beautiful cars and it always seems to be the same type of people who do it and think it looks so cool. I reeks of low class trash IMHO... someone who thinks "sinister" is a good thing and it never fails the person has a few tattoos and facial hair in some sort of a goatee or pony tail... I'm sure they are nice people but at the same time the type I wouldn't want my daughter to marry even if they had money and someone I would not sell an original classic car to. .
Oh yeah, I already did the upgrade! This event is what pushed me over the edge to make the switch. I had a hard time going away from the billet one because I put so much time and effort into finding a different shifter and making it work in the car only to have DF release one a few months later.
Yeah, we opened up the ring gap in the new engine. The intercooler pump failed on this one so the intake temps skyrocketed causing a lot of extra cylinder heat and ring expansion.
So when you swapped the m62 for the turbo, was there any problems install the turbo and manifold? Thinking about doing it to my ss and want to make sure I know what I’m doing before I do it
Wish I would have cut my donor in half that would have been cool! I figured you would have been in the 11s turbocharged. I ran a 12.8 @106 supercharged. Love the content. I was hoping to do an autocross event next week here in iowa, but I'm leaking oil from the girdle block seal. Keep those goblin videos coming man!
It'll go faster! The tune was still way off and the launch was terrible every time. We're planning to go back to the drag strip in about a month to see how fast it'll go
@@WOTclub can't wait to see what kind of times you put down! This coming winter I have plans to forge a 2.2 and go turbo. A dyno vid would be awesome if you ever have the chance. Next thing we know you'll be competing with Justin on the fastest goblin!
So , Seeing your Goblin running the Sick Summer , seeing it running around 12 seconds over 100 MPH , Now I am unwiring a 2009 cobalt, im n my driveway And have my Goblin on order
You guys are die hard! Congrats on going, racing, and testing the new trailer. My old F35 transmission wore out the syncro going into 2nd gear. That made it difficult to shift into 2nd gear when above ~4000 rpm. I replaced the transmission with a new one, and the problem is fixed. DF has new F23s available. I think using 1st gear would help your drag race times. Thanks for the video!
Thanks Ross! The synchros were already upset about life when I bought the Cobalt so it has definitely only gotten worse. Since this event I lowered the rev limiter in first gear down to about 6k and it goes into second so much easier. We're going back to the drag strip in a few weeks to see how fast we can get it to run. I've done a lot more tuning too so it should making a bit more power
Yes the original designers did an incredible job when they designed these cars... however they never lowered them like this with such tacky rims and it was not considered Classy..the thus the terms classy Cadillac's... whats the opposite of classy...
@@Brismo7 I guess others having a different opinion hurts others like you, ... but yea I do hate a lot of things in life.. I hate wars, I hate corrupt politicians, I hate thieves and rapists, crooked cops (do they come any other way) but I dont hate per say these tacky modifications I just dislike them to the point I think they are tacky and low class... but I understand there is a place in the world for them to show us what the true definition of tacky is.
@@Brismo7 but at least I will be hating from a classy styled car and not from a bagged one 😘 .. BTW dont take it so serious..its only the internet and we all have our own individual opinions... we can agree to disagree... .
Hopefully we can be in touch soon I have some questions about ownership in Wisconsin. I’m really interested in this project but I know Wisconsin can suck to register these.
