Center is slowly becoming an obsolete position. here is how to judge a modern center A - can he be a pick and lob on offense and can he defend the perimeter on defense. can he switch? B - Can he play the 4 and 5; thus, allowing line up versatility like Vic, Chet, mobley, etc. C - Is he just a center? if so, he better be amazing like embid or joker. D - Can he shoot or will he just be a dunker? Is he brooke lopez: Just a Center but he can shoot and play 5 out. Is he clint C: just a center but can play defense and run pick and lob Is he Wemby/Chet/JJJ, etc: Can he shoot, score, defend and play the 4 or 5 is he Joker/Embid: Just a center but he is amazing. this guy is clint capella but has a chance to be mobley.
My dad and I trained him!!! He’s amazing and super athletic and quick for his size!! He’s young and only has so much experience against real competition!! Hes only been playing basketball about 4 ish years just imagine what he will turn into!!!
This is where being drafted to the situation matters, if he were to be drafted I hope he’s drafted by the right team with trainers + g league affiliate that do well to developing talent, if I’m guessing I’m thinking some of those places may be Pacers, Raptors, Thunder, Spurs
so much jonathan issac to his game, maybe with more creation potential @ the same age and hopefully less injury-prone - would be a great lob threat on the raptors for scottie + darko's tutelage would expand his game as a raw prospect edit: saw the poster at 9:05 lol wut
I think he’s raw. Just the way he dribbles looks weird. I think in the league he’ll have some really ugly turnovers and I’m not sure if a coach would trust him to create. However he gets it done and see him becoming a suped up Josh Hart type of player. All hustle, but can play above the rim, knock down open 3s and hit the open man on drives
hey ben.. have you done a video on sheadon sharpe? his bounce reminds me of JA but i dont think he has the handle/shooting/finishing ability of ja but i could be wrong. Id LOVE to see you break him down like you did for jaden ivey.
I like how many of these clips show him talking. Theres definitely some thoughtfulness to his game. Just needs to see how much he can absorb game wise. He's getting a foot into the paint faster than most guys can react. If i'm Indiana i want this guy on my team.
i love combo 4/5’s who can shoot. but smith doesn’t have good lateral quickness which means he has to play the 5. but he weights 215 pounds. he needs years of development. ryan anderson could actually play PF in his era. how does smith guard players like Rui or better combo 4’s like OG?
I like Ron a bit more after this video. He has legit all star upside but his floor is still really low I could easily see his median outcome being Derrick Jones Jr
@@benpfeifer8192 he also hasn't played for one team for more than 2 seasons lol. I'd honestly be surprised if hes still on the Mavs in 2 years. Wings who can't shoot aren't a hot comedy. But there's a 15% chance he becomes Brown so I can't hate it
Love the comps that you brought with Barrett, and also Sexton's first driving clip reminds me of Holland. Out of the top 3 slashing wings in this class - Holland has the best dribble moves and finishing moves (euro's & skilled steps); while Castle's handle gets away from him less. Also re: the Barrett comp, Holland is almost 2 inches taller - google image "rj barrett height duke" and you'll see him standing next to Reddish & Zion - Reddish is about 2" taller than RJ; and Holland just measured the same height as Reddish, at their respective combines.
I really like Holland. I think I value simmilar things to you. When I look at a player I try to find their "superpower" and Holland's driving and burst is one for me. Not many players in this draft really have a "superpower", so I think him falling past the lotery is crazy. If my Blazers pass on him with two lotery picks I will be very disapointed.
In Boston he could learn from Porzingis and be taken under Al Horford's wing. He could be a project that becomes a stretch 5 that plays defense and shoots over 30% from 3.
I like Missi but I see him going more in the 14-20 range. No way Portland takes him at 7. And with Castle saying he only wants to be a PG I don't think that would be a great fit either. (Although as a Portland fan I would like to have castle at 14)
@@CarloBarlo69 that’s fair. Didn’t intend it that way. More so for entertainment purposes it’s a thing that’s not good but if it’s involuntary my apologies
Question: why 2 guards for SA??? Why not a PG and a scoring wing??? SA has Vessel, Sochan and Wemby. They don’t have a PG (so why not take Reed or Carter) and then take a scoring wing which SA needs?😊
I think overall this list is great, but I just don't see Ware panning out in the NBA especially on a Lakers team that will more than likely not play Ware in his rookie/sophomore season because of his abysmal floor. That being said I also just don't believe in him at all whatsoever, so I'd much rather a Tristian Da Silva that can come in and give depth to the wing position and allows for a Rui trade, or a high upside pick in Cody Williams. Again great video I appreciate the content.
Ben, I love your hair, but please no Reed Sheppard for my San Antonio Spurs. I would prefer Stephon Castle, who is a better defender. Castle’s shooting will improve. Defensively, Castle and Wemby would be much better than Clingan and Castler were for the national champions. I really like Devin Carter. Next to Nikola Topic, Carter is the second-best point guard in this draft. Castle and Carter would be two good picks for the Spurs!!!
You know which NBA great played goalie in Africa? Hakeem Olajuwon. Nigeria would have been entertaining in WC if they had prime Hakeem in goal. I have heard everything about Chomche from "he's two years away from being two years away" to "Holy Sh!@" . Wiz have 26 and 51. I could see taking a second round flyer on him given this draft stinks. The question is he worth a late first.
Id consider taking him in Toronto and letting him develop we are in a rebuilding timeline anyways so he might be a lot more polished by the time we are starting to making playoff pushes and such
I watched every game he played at Indiana and he CARRIED THE TEAM.. some of this motor stuff is bogus. his demeanor is casual.. but his play is not! He is the one guy on IU you could count on to bring it!
I wish my Hawks would trade down out of #1 and get him along with castle... But I'm sure they're not that smart... Ware would be great next to Trae and Jalen Johnson
