Verdine: Still rocking out my Brother I see: kudos to you! 😜👍 The last time I saw you was some years ago at Bass Player Live at SIR in Hollywood when you gave a workshop and you were playing with a track of the song “September” and I detected a moment of confusion. At that point I started singing the chorus and the rest of the room joined in with some ladies singing the lyrics. Afterward I approached you telling you I knew Al McKay and Roland Bautista from the early days and asked if you could do me a favor and give a business card that I had prepared ahead of time to Tony Bullock which you graciously agreed to do. Well, things definitely didn’t go as I expected when Tony and I actually spoke at a Zoom meeting a few years later even though we were related which is why was there. I was so put off by his attitude and the way he responded to me for the first time ever having spoken to him that I bailed from the meeting not caring to ever speak to him again. 😖 I appreciate you taking the card, but he said he didn’t know anything about a card in which I didn’t believe him: such is life my Brother! You keep rocking! 😇. 😎 🎸 Fritz
Some bands need to fade away and end. This has become one of those. This is just a cover band now, singing and playing to tracks and trying to scrape a few more bucks.
I was at the three shows this weekend June 6-8. Thank you for videoing and posting. I’m in that crowd close to the stage. This three song opening to set 2 on Thursday was magical.
In a weekend of many highlights I think this was my favorite. Wait, maybe St Stephen. No, Casey Jones. Sugaree? US Blues? Looks Like Rain? Deal second to last last night? What a weekend!
It’s just not the same… props for the new drummer to step in after such tragedy, but there will be no one to match the intensity and sound of Taylor… RIP
Dear, oh dear. I've been a massive fan, ever since the 70's and have all of their albums, including the most recent. They can certainly still hack it in the studio but this? Time to stop rolling, I'm afraid!
