I love this because it shows how Charles and Eric created one another. Without Charles to unlock his humanity, there wouldn’t be a powerful revolutionary like Magneto; without Eric to push Xavier beyond his limited experience, there wouldn’t have been the worldly, pan-empathetic Professor X. They unlocked one another’s true power.
one thing that makes this scene so beautiful is that it's likely the first time since before the camp that Eric felt the love he was capable of. When turning that dish he felt the anger that had fueled his revenge for so many years, he also felt his love, for his mother, for his friends, for all of mutant kind. It's one of the thing about Magneto, as much as he hated ignorant humans, he equally loved all mutants. He truly and deeply wanted a world where no mutant lived in fear.
Charles showing Erik a memory of his mother to remind him that he is more than what he's suffered. It's beautiful. It's the crux of Professor X's character. Guiding fellow mutants to the potential he sees in them, even when it's greater than himself.
People don't seem to understand how crazy lucky we r to have 2 pairs of charle's and Erik's both paris compliment each other so bloody well it's insane. And talk abt ledger or Downey Jr being perfect casts. If u want true perfect casts look at Macvoy and Fasbender or Stewart and McKellen. We r blessed
I think for the mutants they need both an Erik and a Charles out there. What’s the saying, hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Charles and the X-men inspire humanity not to be afraid of us or turn against us. Erik and the brotherhood warns humanity of the consequences if they do turn against mutants. Charles is the carrot and Erik is the stick.
One of my all time favorite scenes after thousands of movies...a depiction of respect, love, family, friendship, power, love, and so much more all intertwined barely over a two minute scene. An absolute masterpiece of a scene! Bravo...Bravo...
This is obviously one of the most beautiful scenes in the X-Men franchise. But what I've realized is why it's so beautiful. X-Men were always representations of those who felt they were different. That's why it appealed to teenagers. Re-watching this made me realize how often men are taught to repress feelings, or that they're not supposed to feel...really anything. Eric is learning that that's not the truth, and he becomes stronger.
This single scene emphasizes the friendship that Xavier & Erik had/has better than any other in the entire franchise. You can see here why they were so close in earlier and successive movies. Wonderfully acted by both actors
One of worst thing charles could’ve done, cause if Erik wasn’t going to kill Shaw. He definitely now, that memory is fresh & he wants retribution for his mom.
"It was a very beautiful memory, Erik, thank you." I always thought that was a lovely touch, Charles expressing thanks for that. This, in my opinion, is one of the more perfect scenes out there, and theres much I could say about it, but I love that line.
I want everyone to take note on just how cool charles looks as he probes erics mind. Its not like that for real. I never want to be in the heads of some of these people ever again. Some people are pure evil. You may say to yourself, who is this guy writing this. Its of no concern. Just hope you never have to go through what i have. To save humanity. Most of which is good. There are others who are not totally humans amongst you. Always watching and always loving in ways some dont yet understand.
