I think Unbound mainly uses more modernistic songs, considering the whole art style and stuff the game is going for also goes into that direction and I have to say, I don't get the hate. Most songs fit this game great. I do agree that some songs should only play in menus/garages and others should be playing during races because some songs just don't fit a fast-paced street race but overall the songs are really really good, many ended up in my playlist and I'm insanely happy to have one of my fav artists, Bonez MC, represented in the game with the song "In meinem Benz" which is a banger everytime it plays. Out of all the songs I have heard play during the game, so far there is only a single one that I hate with a passion but that's just because I dislike the artist, the song still fits the overall style the game is going for so I get why it's there, I just wish it wasn't. Overall it seems like a lot of the hate is coming from people who have been around the NFS games for quite some time and often remember playing the good old NFS games, what they have to understand is that if nothing changes there is nothing new to come and there would be no innovation. Unbound is most certainly not the greatest NFS to ever exist but it ain't bad and imo in a lot of aspects it beats out games like MW, in a lot of points simply because these games are seperated by nearly 2 decades.
I hate the MW2005 community so much, even though I love that game. They only play the game because of nostalgia and the soundtrack isn't even that good
That unfortunately happens often, people just putting on the rose tinted glasses with their memories from back when they were a kid and anything new that comes out is automatically just bad and gets trashed by them. I used to do this aswell until someone mentioned that I do this and only then did I actually notice that I was doing it and stopped aswell. People like that often don't even notice it.
@@B4RC0D3_YT I would say the ADP is more of a VW Golf, either MK3 or MK4 It's a bit too boxy to be a Ford Focus And the Wataru... it definitely has the looks of the Lancer but I think it's also mixed with a BMW M3 E36, especially on the front And the Chisai is a less powerful version of the Kodai So the Chisai is also a celica and not a Mazda 323 Although the Chisai's headlights really sell the look of the Mazda
@@SLASH_2801 In fact, the ADP looks nothing like a Volkswagen Golf, and it is a tuned station wagon. And I agree with you that when I took a look at the Chisai during my youth, the rear end looked so similar to the 2001 Toyota Celica alongside the Kodai, Noelli Espresso and Tsunami, but mostly the power is much like the low level tuned Mazda 323 Lantis.
Now I understand that when comes to music it's all dependent on personal taste and weather you the listener will enjoy it or not personally i think unbounds soundtrack is pretty average to me at least but I think the problem is that the songs don't match the adrenaline rush and fast paced intensity that is street racing in NFS now I've noticed a lot of people mention how the game lacks rock & metal songs and whilst i enjoy the music myself i don't really thinks its necessary now that would be nice but its up to the developers if they want add that in, maybe if the game had more energetic edm songs or an original soundtrack like in NFS The RUN, MW 2012 and Carbon especially during the races maybe there would have been less complaints
I grew up with this game and I used to play it during summers nostalgia revived and I was so obsessed with the color of these cars other than that we used to say that the orange car was my cousins car color
NFS unbound is the only NFS game where I have to mute the music and play my own. They literally lost the soul of the music...when driving 300kph i dont wanna hear slow tempo pop or alt music, i want raging electro and metal. who tf came up with the playlist for this game
The music do fit the vibe of the game (mostly) What they messed up is where songs play, instead of fitting each song to a spesific sanaerio you have just a mishmash of songs playing everywhere and you end up hearing slow music in the racing and energetic music in the gararge
I always preferred Revolution over this one, for its improved collision physics, easier difficulty and automatic gear shifting. But if I'm looking for a harder mode, I'd play this one.
There are a good amount of decent songs in Unbound in my opinion, it's hard to compare because the older games have completely different types of music plus music taste is something that will be different for each person. Try to be more open minded for new music.
@@SLASH_2801 I am open minded for new music, and the newer NFS are just trash in comparison to the many racing games i have tried in the past 24 years of my life It's not about nostalgia or music genre, it's literally just not good in my opinion, because I do listen tons of different genres daily
@@ScarLeRenard For me I can enjoy this soundtrack just like I enjoy the soundtrack of Underground 2 or The Crew or Forza Horizon or almost any racing game, I can't really think on a racing game where I actively hated the music
Naah, I will not fold on this topic. Unbound maybe has a total of 5 listenable songs. When I played through this game I had to mute both voices and soundtrack. Disasterous soundtrack and actors
I mean at the end of the day it's all a matter of do you like the songs or not. It's entirely subjective, I for one am currently playing through the game and so far there is only 1 song that I absolutely hate and cannot stand, all the others, while they may not fit a high speed race, are great songs and many ended up in my playlist aswell lol
Unbound music is trash, straight up. I muted it a long time ago and use the Most Wanted playlist on Spotify. I can't understand some of it because of language and mumbling, singing about heavenly vaginas and just straight-up nonsense. Imo, there are no redeeming songs in Unbound.
I used to think the game was broken. It would never move off the loading screen. I only ever played it a couple of times but i had so much fun when it worked
can we all stop pretending like every single NFS game ever doesn’t have some really shitty music but also some fucking bangers! its hit or miss almost always and then there is songs that are shit but they grow on you cause you hear it every time you play.
If we're talking about the 'good' songs in Unbound, how're you gonna completely miss Forever Been Steppin' and Militant? Hands down the two best songs in the games and the biggest factors in it's redemption Also, as much as I love Big Persona, and Maxo/Tyler in general, I cannot STAND the in-game version. The ticking sound is off compared to the original and it drives me crazy
also they couldn't even be bothered to get a real life street racer to be featured in the game or bring back the original actors/actresses from NFS underground 1 & 2 to reprise their roles for this game. they had to get a trash modern day rapper to be the star of this game, that doesn't even do street racing in real life. LOL just everything about unbound sucks
it feels like the games from back then based the games around that time period. it's like a highlight from that era all brought together of when the game was released in from the look, art style, design and soundtrack all captures that. this is why underground 1 & 2 still holds up til this day.
Glad this video is going against the typical NFS herd mentality. The problem with Unbound's ost is that it just doesn't stick to a specific style. There's random ass songs from around the world that don't fit a gritty Chicago inspired city contrasted with bright grafitti effects. It really should've had faster and more varied tracks. What happened to metal? A lot of modern metal is boring but BMTH are a huge band and they still make interesting stuff that would fit the vibes. What about bands that used to be in NFS like Pendulum? They'd fit in great.
Honestly prostreet is a game where I pretty much like every song in Could have gone for something better though... like Draw Japan, Prayer or Almost Easy
Remember, different times, different eras, different music, different flair, if you choose the same of 10 years ago, you're either justified or blinded by nostalgia
People saying rap/hiphop doesn't fit racing games never played Midnight Club. MC2/3/LA are goated when it comes to soundtracks, even better than most NFS's imo. MC2 especially since it has songs as themes for each boss racer, like the LA champ Dice uses rap songs during his races but it still feels intense racing him. MC2 also divides its' genres between each city, LA you have rap/hiphop theme, Paris is dance/house, and Tokyo is trance. Then MC3 and LA have hundreds of songs of many different genres so there's so much variety it doesn't feel like you're just listening to the same songs over and over again.
on one hand, you say you don't like rap songs on the other hand, you say it solidified your love for the older games for having rock metal, AND RAP. So Most Wanted and Underground can get away with rap music and you accept it but Unbound can't? huh...
@@SLASH_2801 it's mainly because the games have a better mix of tracks that I can just blank out rap songs while driving. I don't like rap because of how my brain processes information. I literally can't process rap.
I think Unbound has a lot of bangers, sure there are bad apples I'm not saying all the songs are good But there is a decent amount of good songs in my opinions...
Just because I like different music than you doesn't mean my music taste is "poor" But it says that you can't respect others' opinions and different tastes in music...
underground 1&2 and mw have the best songs for each section in the game hands down. in racing, the musics are designated in a way that the player could have the hype with rock & nu-metal & aggressive rap and hiphop songs, in menu same is applied again but the musics in this section is not that aggressive and more calming but has the ability to hype the player at the same time and that was truly OK and i love it. but nowadays in the new nfs games most of the time you can't even the tell the difference between menu musics and racing musics. i don't like that, that is why i mostly listen to old nfs songs when i'm playin new nfs games.
