Thanks so much for this video! My curls and length are literally identical to yours. Since cutting it short I’m at a loss about wearing it up 😓 I bought one of those hair scrunchies but it’s darker than my hair. I’m excited to try this technique!
@@mjlifestyle9299 I've done the one, where you do the rolls at the side of the head...but that wasn't very comfortable for me as a side sleeper. I'll for sure try this as an alternative!
Very smart. I just received two scrunchies in the mail yesterday and have been looking for instructional videos. I was concerned about matching hair color because it would be impossible to ever find perfect matches and the best I could hope for was some similarity. Thanks!
Hi Rony! I'm not sure it would have the same effect because a shower cap won't absorb anything ... You could give it a try tho and see how it goes? Let me know if you try it :)
@@mjlifestyle9299 thank you MJ, l will give it a try, keep you posted. l just thought that a t-shirt might take away most of the products than a plastic shower cap.
Omg i love this one its so easy hahaha i wanted to do a crown braid but its sooooooo confusing 😩😩😩😩 this quick hairdo was a cheat short cut to achieve that look muahahahaha😈😈👿👿
Thank you so much 🫶🏻 yes sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. Plopping when my hair was this length would have definitely made my curls more tight and defined. So it really just depends on the look you want. Plopping also cuts down drying time!
Interesting approach! Meanwhile my exact issue with these heatless styles is, that I don't like flat hair around my head and wish, the curls would start as close to the scalp as possible 😅 It's interesting though, that your hair doesn't go bushy overnight. Mine does that even with a silk bonnet and it's only wavy. I have to leave the style in overnight, or I'll look a mess in the morning.
Thank you for your comment! I understand that perfectly, I will have to experiment and see if I can come up with some techniques to create more volume and curl on top :) I try to wash my hair in the morning so that by the time it’s time for bed most of it has already dried in my bun and it’s smoothed out. Another thing I do is I twist my hair in two twists for overnight and it keeps my hair frizz free and defined. And then the next day I put my headless curl rod in for two hours and I’m good to go! Here is a link to a video that describes the twists: vm.tiktok.com/ZM6XNNqG7/ Curly hair can be a rubix cube sometimes but it’s fun sharing with each other what works for us and what doesn’t!! :)
@@mjlifestyle9299 Definitely. I was totally clueless about what to do with my wavy, bushy mess, before people started making tutorials. I never much liked heat styling - it takes forever, if you have thick, dense hair, so heatless curls were an epiphany for me!
You need to define your ends find which product works for you and finger coil the bottom. Also you need a curl defining brush that will truly clump your hair.
Hey there! I put in my leave in conditioner and hair gel. I usually wring my hair out in the shower and then do my styling while its sopping wet. (I just put a towel on the ground for all the drips) I will do a more in depth plopping routine in the next few weeks :)
So pretty! 25 minutes just to dry hair seems like a long time for me, I don't have that kind of patience. But I have to admit the result looks great on you.
Man, I really need to stop obsessively cutting my hair so I can get it as long as yours is here again. I miss rocking a similar style. I think I need my scissors taken away from me!
Thank you!! I usually just get a bunch of inspo pics from Pintrest to show my hair stylist! But verbally I asked for a shoulder length cut with layers, fringe and bangs!
Beautiful. Wish, I had your curl pattern. Mine is a lot looser and only ever looks good freshly styled. By the end if the day, all I got is waves and the next morning, the styling products will leave it looking dull and messy. Blow drying is just the more practical solution for me, because it actually lasts for 2-3 days with minimal maintenance. But I keep coming back to videos like these, because curls are just so darn pretty 😅
@@mjlifestyle9299 I do try. My hair doesn't really curl up, unless I get it completely soaking wet again, but I can usually achieve a reasonably cute 'out of bed' look. Having lots of layers in my shoulder length bob definitely helps. I'm a Flamboyant Natural in the Kibbe system (if you're familiar with that?), so hair that's little bit messy and unstructured doesn't look too bad on me.
@@raraavis7782 Ah yes makes sense! Thats the thing, everybody's hair is different and you got to figure out what works for you! Your hair sounds beautiful :)
