The power to weight ratio of those race cars of that era were incredible. I saw Senna win in Detroit back in the 80's in person, and the raw acceleration out of a tight turn was something to see and hear. Especially the way the sound bounced off the tall buidings downtown.
BERGER COME TO AYRTON SENNA! GO TO CHICANE, BERGER PASSED SENNA, AND WINS THE JAPAN GRAND PRIX, AND AYRTON SENNA FOR THIRD TIME!! CHANPION OF THE WORLD
Mansell's retirement is a bit unfortunate because it gave us an anticlimatic end to what was otherwise one of the most beautiful F1 seasons in history. But it was still a memorable Grand Prix and denouement to the season due to Senna's knightly gift to Berger on the last lap, Mansell's sportmanship to Senna in the paddock, and Senna's explosive declarations at the press conference. The only real negative bit was Ferrari's decision to sack Prost, an enormous mistake which will have very negative consequences for both Ferrari and for the sport.
