It's amazing how far technology has come: now all these electronic/digital switching systems are being retired and services being transitioned to VoIP with countries like the UK (for example) completely switching off POTS/PSTN by 2027.
OMG how can it look so good wow! I can't really say it still holds up today, but it certainly doesn't look ugly at all! I'm impressed with thus little animation!
From 1977 to 1981 I was in the Coast Guard in Kodiak, Alaska, and hauled a DXC-1600 all around Alaska and even to England on one trip. All 80 plus pounds with the camera, control unit, and recorder.
This scared the crap out of me when I was a little kid, then a bunch of my big sisters friends were talking about going to their concert so I said to her If you don't come back I'm taking your room.
You might know this by now, but there's so many things you got wrong in this video. I also know exactly where you got some of your info and why it's wrong :/. I'd note it all, but I'm on my phone, and it was a lot of stuff.
Actually this is from 1981 because the Wbal action News theme from when Wbal was getting ready to switch from nbc to cbs was playing during the action News promo at the end of this clip
I know you posted this awhile ago. I just bought one of these. Need a little advice. Not much info on these. No power when I plug it in. Using a variac with dim bulb tester. All fuses good inside and out. Not sure what to check next.
Man I hated Dolby NR sucked out all the shine and brightness out of a song. Never used it. I rather hear some noise than lose the shimmer of cymbals or the air in a vocal performance
Then you have used it incorrectly or equipment was faulty. There must be no difference in sound regardless any NR is used in the right way. Unfortunately, in reality it happened rarely that everything was ok.
"Clearly, the Public Switched Telephone Network is the heart of telecommunications." Well, it was, anyway. I'd focus on that Public Packet Data Network if I were you.
I started working in ISDN central offices in Germany in 1990. ISDN was a huge leap for us, as we previously only had analog technology for subscriber lines. The last ISDN central office in Germany was switched off in 2022. ISDN was completely replaced by the Internet and Voice over IP.
Nice technical detail of the recording however a Tenor Guitar only has 4 strings. This is a 6-string Gibson acoustic archtop masterfully played by Marty Grosz. Kenny Davern and Bob Wilbur on reeds.
Here in the Philippines, ABS-CBN Brought 3 RCA TK-31C Black and White Studio Television Cameras when they began as the First Television Broadcasts in October 23, 1953
