In 2015 I bought Volt Pulse X. The bike was a pain to ride right from the start. The back wheel - the rim started to split, 6 spokes snapped, the nuts kept coming loose while riding, the cones came loose and the brake disc bent. And the bottom bracket became faulty. Volt said that they had starting having problems with Pulse X, but Volt and the shop who supplied it was obsessed with blaming me for damaging the bike. I was told by Trading Standards and the bike shop that who ever caused the damage to bike pays for the fault report to be done. The fault report had to be done by someone who had nothing to do with me, the shop or Volt in any way. The fault report was to say what caused the faults. The fault report actually said one fault, a warped disc brake. It never said what caused the faults. I got the bike back with a warped disc brake and loose cones and I was told it was perfectly safe to ride on the road. On the way back home, the nuts on the back wheel came loose. Volt and the bike shop said I caused the damage by carrying too much weight. Then Volt decided I caused the damage by using toe clips on the bike. Then James Metcalfe at Volt told me the damage would have been caused by the extra weight of the heavier battery and the extra torque in the motor, which was needed for the heavier battery. All this was all fitted as standard. And he insulted me for completely NO reason. He wrote the insult down and I was sent a copy of it which I still have. Facts: 1. If I damaged the bike then why did Volt replace the parts under warranty? 2. Volt admitted manufacturing problems quite a few times. 3. Volt wanted and had the fault report done by Bob's Bikes (shut down) who sold Volt bikes and who's owner's nephew, who owned the bike shop Hull City Cycles, (mysteriously shut down) the bike was supplied through. 4. Volt paid for the fault report. But since Volt have admitted a few times that they never made the bike properly, they STILL will NOT give me my money back!
Hi. Would this bike be suitable for my commute to work,8 miles a day for 5 or 6 days a week. I need it to last for at least 3 years. Also what are the service intervals? Many thanks.

Hi dear Can you ride volt burlington in heavy rain. Also while reading the booklet that comes with the volt burlington, it says that don't charge your battery unattended and to be honest it scared me a bit. Can you elaborate on that as well because i work as a courier for a delivery company and i put my battery on charge while sleeping and also sometimes during the day when I'm at work with my other ebike. In 2015 I bought a Volt Pulse X. The first day of riding it was a pain. The only 2 power levels that made it easier were 4 and 5. After a few days only power level 5 made it easier, then it was hard in all power levels. I had to keep stop pedalling for a rest. I told the shop that supplied the bike Hull City Cycles (shut down). He rode the bike himself for about half a mile. He said the reason why the bike was so hard to ride is because it is too efficient. So he admitted there was a problem with the bike and it was hard to pedal with very little assistance. Then after just 5 months and over the next 5 months the bike started falling apart. All in the back wheel at different times 6 spokes snapped, the nuts kept coming loose while riding, the cones came loose, the rim split and the disc brake bent. Also the bottom bracket loosened and needed replacing. Volt (paid the money to), Hull City Cycles (supplied the bike) and Bob’s Bikes (the owner of HHC worked here as well and both owners are family, also shut down) said the damage was caused by me carrying too much weight. The bike has a sticker on it saying max load is 100kg. I weigh about 80-85kg. Volt even said that the camera I took was too much weight. No DSLR camera weighs 15kg. When this lie didn’t work, they then said the damaged was caused by having toe clips on the pedals. Toe clips would do nothing and where not even fitted in the first place. Warranty Exclusions The Volt warranty excludes damage or defects under the following circumstances: • 1. Abnormal use, lack of maintenance, accidental damage, prolonged exposure to moisture or liquid as well as non-compliance with guidelines for maintenance and servicing as stated in the Volt manual that is supplied with each bike. Volt’s own warranty exclusions says that they will not fix or replace anything damaged caused by abnormal use or accidents. This would be why they were all obsessed with telling me I carried too much weight. And tried to make out toe clips would damage a bike. But Volt, under full warranty, replaced all spokes, the rim, respoked the back wheel twice and replaced the bottom bracket. So Volt admitted 9 times that there is a manufacturing problem with the bike. Then Volt told me that they had started having problems with the Volt Pulse X. So they admitted manufacturing problem again. After this, Hull City Cycles then shut down and he went back to work at Bob’s Bikes. They checked the bike and said there was not a single thing wrong with the bike at all and said it was perfectly safe to ride on the road. The back wheel cones were still loose and the back brake disc was still bent. This is VERY DANGEROUS to ride anywhere. The last time the bike was rode was in 2016. FACT: What I think makes the bike dangerous and made it fall apart is, Volt made a bike and called it the Pulse. They then added a heavier battery and more torque to the Pulse and called the Pulse X. But they NEVER tested and strengthened the Pulse to be able to take the extra weight and power. Volt’s own exact words - It would be the heavier battery and the extra torque in the motor that’s causing it. I went to Trading Standards who said to have the bike checked to see what actually causes the damage and NOT what the damage actually is. It was to be done by some I do not know and who has nothing to do with Volt Cycles at all. Both Volt and Trading Standards said to have the bike report done at Bob’s Bikes. As I said, The 2 owners of Hull City Cycles and Bob’s Bikes are family and both shops sold Volt. The report said what 2 bits of damage were and NOT what caused them. This makes the report fraudulent and Trading Standards accepted the report. When I told Trading Standards they didn’t want to know. Both Trading Standards and Bob’s Bikes told me that whoever caused the damages to the bike would pay for the report. VOLT PAID FOR THE REPORT. I then went to the small claims court. The courts never told me anything about a hearing or anything. They then sent me a letter saying they struck out the case because I never went to a hearing they never told me about. Volt cycles also insulted me for no reason, I still have the written proof which was sent to me by the courts. It then cost me even more money to reopen the case. At this hearing I was told that the bike DID last a reasonable amount of time (the bike was very hard to pedal within the first few seconds of getting the bike.) All damage was done in less than 11 months. A bike shop told me the reasonable amount of time is about 2 years. I was also told that Volt asked for the hearing (the one I was not told about) to be postponed and they never turned up. They never turned up for this hearing either. Volt said almost word for word of what I did, so they admitted again the manufacturing problems. I was then told this hearing was NOT to reopen the case but find out if a judge would reopen it. Volt even admitted to the courts that Volt paid for the fault report. Again, Volt ADMITTED it was manufacturing faults. The judge even told me, while I was riding the bike “and the wheel nuts come loose, just tighten them up.” The last time I rode the bike the wheel nuts came loose 3 times in 13 minutes. All these years I’ve been stuck with a very dangerous bike that’s just stuck in a shed and can never be ridden again. Volt still, will NOT give me my money back!
I'm the new owner of a most beautiful Volt Alpine X Electric Steed! A barn find so to speak. (Spare bedroom actually) She's absolutely mint. The battery is another story for another day. I absolutely love this gem of a bike. Those lines & curves. The geometric design. The Matt black finish. She's beautiful to ride. I managed around 50 Miles before the battery died. (Went down to 1 Green light then wouldn't charge) Still showing 1 green light all the same. Rather baffling actually. However Elliott at customer services has been absolutely brilliant. I can't thank him enough. He's been utterly professional helpful kind & considerate. I'm in my 60's half way plus to 70. Elliott is sourcing me a brand new battery & charger. I have to pay of course. But bottom line. Without he's help & guidance i have been stuck. I'll be contacting him in the next two weeks once I've saved up enough to pay.i just love this 6 Year old bike. I can get out more. I don't drive. Thank you Elliot at Volt....You are a legend. Customer service at Volt is 💯% Top notch. It doesn't get any better. All my questions were answered. Nothing was to much trouble. No waiting for ages to get through on the phone. Within 30 Second's i was speaking to a specialist. If you are considering buying a Volt e bike. Go4it. Don't hesitate. I've friends with other brands. They get sent from pillar to post with aftercare. Volt.....❤🤗

Hi there, all our ebikes are road legal, the throttle / walk assist will only take you up to 5 mph, once dismounted, this will help you push the bike (walk assist), however if you are on the bike and push the throttle down, you will need to start cycling to get the boost, the throttle acts as a shortcut to the maximum speed 15.5 mph but needs rotation of the pedals which makes it legal in the UK. No rotation of the pedals means that you'd be riding a moped or a scooter that are registered with a number plate. Hope this helps.
Yes got 2 volts. Both click like crazy when ridden backto dealers they don’t know - volt company suggestion take to your dealer. Wont be buying another. Shame as very functional but clicking same on both bikes is dealbreaker as is volts response

My wife and myself picked up our Volt Metro and Metro LS bikes today, not been out on them yet as it is raining. but looking at the build standard and the security system which is built in, they are really brilliant. great bikes and we are looking forward to using them for the first time tomorrow.
