I hate to be that guy but here I am. This goes for all large dance teams, not just VSU- When working with space, sometimes less is more. There’s a ton of people on this team that could have been utilized better if broken up into smaller groups and really using the space. The dance floor looks messy and cluttered. It’s not pleasant to look at. Often teams are cool in the pocket. Static to specific points most of the time. It doesn’t do justice. Many performances are also very 1Dimensional in the sense that the focus in all stage forward. There are spectators all around. 360 performances are dynamic. It shows that you are capable as a creative director and dancer to make a team stand out. Some positives about this performance, VSU kept moving, they incorporated props, and overall they looked like they had fun which might be the most important thing of all for some teams. Great work VSU.
