Thanks for this. As always your tutorials are super easy to follow and if it hadn't have been for this video I probably wouldn't have bothered with getting my legacy styles updated! Thanks again.
Question. If the "Blue Button" from the legacy global style has been used throughout the website, then when the new "Blue Button" global style is created and saved, are all the buttons using the legacy "Blue Button" global style automatically updated to use the new global style? Since you mentioned the old global style can be deleted, I would assume that all the buttons automatically get updated to the new global styles system.
No, I don't believe that's how it works. You will have to apply the new global class to each button across your site. Sorry for not explaining that further!
Too many changes in generateblocks. And above all changes that force us to change the way of working. I understand that it is to work better, but no one takes into account the time we need to continually learn. New web developers who don't understand a little CSS are going to have a harder time. :) Thanks Adam for summarizing and explaining this new way of working with generateblocks.
I agree with what you are saying. Right now my end-users are trained to use the legacy global styles system, which is fairly easy to understand because you just pick a style from a dropdown menu. This new system will be far more complicated for the end-user, so I think I'll need to rely even more on "Local Patterns," or what is the new way of using local patterns.
i understand the point you are making but i am going to respectfully disagree with what you are saying. In my humble opinion the new class system is the greatest system i have ever worked with. The GP & GB UI is designed in such a way you can survive with absolutely no css skills at all. The ability to change something once hand have all those changes reflect across the site in an instant is an absolute game changer. I know we had global styles previously but the new setup is a vast improvement.
I feel you, Jose! However, as developers and designers, we have to continue to evolve with the software. Otherwise, our very own expertise and processes will also become dated and obsolete. It's not easy to keep up, but it feels necessary if we want to continue to run a business that's relevant and will last. It's sort of the way of technology - it's always going to evolve.

For me this doesnt work because I dont have the possibility to add a parameter on my bricks UI. Im not even 100% sure you are talking about a query loop in bricks and since I dont see the upload date of the video I dont have a chance to check whether you might be talking about an old version of bricks or acf.
This is great Adam. Thanks. I really appreciate this video format that you do, 10mims on one specific topic... It makes your entire channel a great (goto) resource when I need advice/assistance on a specific aspect of design. Will defo sign up for your course. Thanks again
I am unable to see locally hosted fonts. I am using Custom Fonts plugin by Brainstorm Force. Struggling to configure that. Please do a tutorial on that when you have time, thanks.
I wish GenerateBlocks would have a lifetime pricing model. Just need it for one site, but paying 60 euro's each year for the rest of... well whatever.... is to much. (yes got a generatepress lifetime account also)
Thank you so much for the amazing video😍 I have one question don't show the bottom of category/posts 1,2,3...next or load more post kindly guide me on how I do this please especially I request you make a video on this
I had a little trouble getting "custom order" to work (per the GB documentation). Turns out that I hadn't included the field in Query Loop. Super obvious on reflection but caused a frustrating few hours so adding it here for others to benefit. You can then simply hide that field use "hide on mobile", "hide on desktop" & "hide on tablet".
Super helpful video, Thank you! One question: You say, that you always set the padding on the outer container, never on the inner one. I do it the other way around. Is there any advantage to setting the padding on the outer container rather than on the inner?
Great video Adam - as always there are multiple nuggets in there. Have you found a way to run a query loop using the new class system in GenerateBlocks? I would love to be able move away from the default "grid" block
Hi Adam, loving all your videos! Very short & concise, easy to follow. So... Did the Layout element change since you made this video? I have the latest version of GP Premium installed and I do not see the "Disable Elements" tab. Also, in your video when you changed your content area to "Full Width (no padding)" using the Layout element, I could see your header then spanned the full width of your screen, but your content area below didn't seem to change at all. How was the content still "contained" after changing the entire site to full width?
Disable Elements I believe is a Premium feature, do you not have GP Premium? Also, the width of my content didn't change because I utilize the inner container within my section when I'm building the page out.
@@adamwrightdesign Ah, I think that might be it. I do own GP Premium, but I think at the time I was working on a staging site that didn't have GP Premium installed. Thanks for the reply!
@@adamwrightdesign Actually... I just realized "Disable Elements" is one of the module within GP Premium that you have to Activate under Appearance -> GeneratePress. Oops!🤣
A nice little styling upgrade - I'd like to see GP offer some more options like one that has some animation. Even Wix's default hambuger is more interesting.
Great tutorial as usual. I need to know if I need GenerateBlocks Pro beside the GP Premium to be able to do this. I have only bought GP Premium. didn't knew that there is GenerateBlocks Pro.
@@adamwrightdesign my single blog posts look so much better now 🤓 I also followed your related content tutorial. 👏 Do you have any ideas for a gallery?
Oh Yeah! I had seen how to do this once before, but the link faded into my history. Then I find this! Exactly what I was looking for. Concise and to the point instructions. Thanks, Adam. Great stuff.
Thanks for this clear tutorial! I'm curious - how do you sort the query loop by 2 custom fields? For example - when you need to sort by date, then time.... using 2 different custom fields (a date picker and a time picker).
Hi Adam! I just want to say that your videos are super helpful! You have an excellent gift for educating. Thanks again; your videos are my go-to reference for generating press. If you ever need anything digital design-wise, hit me up. I would love to return the favor.
I love your little tutorials and your calm, very pleasant way of describing the steps. I think you have just the right pace to make it easy to follow! I have just rebuilt the team section and everything went well. Thank you 👍
