These videos are created to honor the great film composers and their extraordinary music. They hopefully will be enjoyed and help to understand how this artform work(ed) and which musical heights could be achieved. Not saying everything is bad nowadays, but couldn't (film) music be much more? Well, here we are now, enjoying some fine works.

Wow, 10:50. Absolutely 'nobody' does haunting, lyrical, bittersweet themes like Jerry Goldsmith. Now I've got to get the dvd to find out what this music underscores. Maybe a love interest in an exotic location? Don't tell me anyone, I want to be surprised. 🙂
Hitchcock returns to Britain and makes a film a bit more to his liking! ...his only R rated film! I always liked Goodwin 's score here ok....but I always find myself wondering what this would've sounded like with a Bernard Hermann score.
Another beautiful and heartfelt score by the world renowned composer Alfred Newman. He has always been one of my highest ranking favorite motion picture composers of all time. His music always captivates his listeners and adds so much depth and feeling to the movies that he has written his beautiful scores for. One of the all time greats who has collaborated numerous times with the talented associate choral director Ken Darby to bring us the music that we have come to know and love throughout the decades.
The last 5 or so minutes is the very definition of power and grace. The underdog story being uplifted. Its one of my favorite pieces of film music and it also fits perfectly into the scene where Rudy finally gets on the field and the sheer happiness of the moment. Just perfect movie music. Its one of those pieces where you know exactly where it came from. Beautiful stuff.
Hello friend, this channel is non-commercial but if RU-vid's very own content-ID system recognizes copyrighted material (as this music), the copyright holders can freely put as much ads as they like. I am sorry but I wish I could change that for listening pleasure... In any way, I recommend an Adblock service to you, as the overload of ads on RU-vid got out of hand, through the last years, in my opinion. Best always! Fred
Hello, Fred! Goldsmith leaves aside the " Hoosiers " synthesizers and returns to the traditional orchestra, in a score that moves delicately with woodwinds at the front, strings, a simple female choir and piano. With this, he tell us that each one's life is full of difficulties, tortuous paths, thorns, and a lot will have to be left behind. But if we have a dream ( " Rudy " ) or just looking for one last chance ( " Hoosiers " ), there will be the brass, with the orchestra & choir, triumphant, to celebrate our little great glory. Thanks and bye!!
Americans love these sports flicks, football or baseball, and they do very well there and ofter go unnoticed this side of the pond. This being pre-1995 I should've seen this but I haven't. Great score albeit typically nostalgic feeling for these kinds of films.
This soundtrack and that of the movie 'Hoosiers', for me, are the most moving and beautiful scores from Jerry. Interesting that they are both sporting themed movies - - thank you Mr Goldsmith !
Based on the real events in the life of Rudy Ruettiger, “Rudy” (1993) deals with the young man, whose biggest dream is to play for the Notre Dame football team. Though it is said he is too short to play, he doesn’t want to give up… Written by Angelo Pizzo and directed by David Anspaugh, both worked before on the successful sport-movie “Hoosiers” (1986), “Rudy” became a well received and remembered successor. Musical accompaniment came from Jerry Goldsmith, naturally, as he was also involved on “Hoosiers” and turned out to be the perfect choice for such motivational scenarios. Enjoy!
One of the best movie music ever made by Hollywood! I watched this movie in China 1977. The theme music of this movie, then, was often broadcasted in the medias run by Chinese government (I am sure this violates copyright). Thank you so much for posting this soundtrack!
I remenber i was on a school cruise around the med o n board the SS NEVASA when i was a lad in the late 1960s and frist saw this flim on board the ship. What a movie, happy days. ❤
I’ve always loved this end theme to Jaws. I’d always watch closely as Brody and Hooper slowly swam ashore. I always wondered if it was actually Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss or just two random crew members they put out there as doubles. It’s such a peaceful end credits
I think Hollywood has forgotten how to make films scores. Williams, Goldsmith, and Schifrin are the best. You can listen to their film scores on their own without the films.
This music has had a place in my heart since, amazingly now, I would drive my heart-sick 24 y/o nephew to the Houston Greyhound bus station for a 3 a.m. bus EVERY FRIDAY! The hour-long drive in the dark was made dramatic and memorable with this music in the CD player.
Romeo and Juliet has been made into a movie many times, but I especially love this version because of Nino Rota's music. The main theme is played many times in the film, and among them, I absolutely love the melody of Romeo's death scene, where the main and secondary melodies intertwine beautifully and express indescribable beauty.
