Please do one for "Poor Heart" off of the hoist album! And make sure it's studio version! As soon as Trey goes live, he absolutely decimates the majority of his flawless solos. No one wants to learn live stuff, man, and the people who do are "piles" Sorry, I got off subject. Please do the studio version of Poor Heart......the solos and such.
It was just yesterday, 9/11/24 that I actually realized this song is pretty great. I always chalked it up to mindless noodling, but there’s some great thought put into how this was composed. No idea how Trey had the time to just sit there and write this. Good stuff, I’m gonna learn it.
I'm particularly fond of monster players like Trey or Puablo Gilberto showing you how they make their exercises more musical, if you like.. I go bonkers playing chromatic stuff like this, so I was very glad to see Trey show us later, how he does similar to triads/chords. Great stuff. tyvm.
Great lesson! It sounds like in the triplet chords he's holding down the high F on the 13th fret of the E string too, but he doesn't always (it's not on the studio version)
Yeah frankly I don’t believe Trey is doing that. Watch the video of him playing it, he’s not reaching that far. I realize Trey has bigger hands than LeBron James, but the sound and feel is just too clean for that voicing.
@@PhishGuitarLessons i stand corrected sir. Love your videos btw. I guess us mortals with normal sized hands will look for another D7 voicing, say in the 5th position? It wont sound the same but I probably won't dislocate my digits to do it either ;-). Thanks for correcting me though!
hey this is amazing! Just wondering if you have a pdf of the tab that you can share? Attempting to learn this and it would be nice be able to see it all laid out. Thank you for doing all these videos! they're awesome
I’ve been playing it so wrong for so long. Ha! Thanks for this one. Also, I’m in that wave of people in the clip. Mikes side about 30 yards back with some of my best friends. Cypress was amazing, but the Clifford Ball solidified for me just how great this band was. Well, that and my first show, 10/31/94. The Beatles and a naked Fishman. What more could I ask for? Always enjoy the videos and the tutelage. Please keep em coming.
