Hi Martin, Yes the NOVA has a clicker sealed inside the braking system. This protects all moving parts in the reel but also lower the sound on the clicker. It’s still a nice sound in the real in our opinion😊. //The GL Team
Hi Robert! Check out any of our waders and there is a size-guide to find the right fit, link here - www.guidelineflyfish.com/en/alta-sonic-tizip-wader-l //Henrik GL
I live near the TEST at Winchester, beautiful looking river and surroundings, I would only fish it when nymphs are permitted, at £250 a day you want some options.
This presentation is exceptional. It is named as Double Hand Casting Masterclass. Not just scandi casting masterclass. My question is about skagit setups. Does Tellis apply the same concept of 80:20 when fishing skagit setups? One of the most valuable tips to me is at the end of the video. I use non dominant hand as bottom hand. Now, I am going to switch to see how that works. My dominant hand is right and I am going to use it to pull ...
In general I use the same style or muscle movements in my casting, regardless of the line that I am using. :) If I have a short Skagit, mid Scandi or traditional Spey line, I use the same style and power application. There is of course differences and adjustments, and that has mainly to do with the length of the line. Meaning, I adjust my casting stroke/length of movement as well as the hight of my lift, depending on which line I am using. Skagit and Scandi is about the same, short line and short stroke, with not that high of a lift. With longer heads/speylines, I increase the length and hight of my movement, due to the fact that the line is that much longer and needs more energy to be moved. Same thing goes for single hand casting and overhead as well. Short line is normally best thrown with a short stroke, and a longer line with a longer stroke.
Great video. I am thinking of purchasing a 4D multi tip line . I have a 12ft 6" the rod rating for a scandi line is between 33 and 36 g . Which 4D multi tip set up would suit me best as it is all small to medium rivers i fish . Thanks in advance for your kind help. Regards Alfie
Hi Alfie! For small to medium size rivers the 4D Compact MultiTip is the perfect choice, cast beautifully and with its compact form factor it is great even when you have some obstacles behind your back. // Henrik GL. when you are born to it then there is nothing so beautiful, nature is owning a way .I hope it stays the free like it is.. its not about catching its about being part of the thrills ..
We agree:-) unfortunaltely there has been some issues in production with the line, so we are working on some improvement and hopefully we can introduce it again in 2025. Sorry for the inconvenience. //The GL Team
We apologize for the delay. We expect to have sizes #4 and #5 back in stock next week, and sizes #6, #7, and #8 should be available by the beginning of September. Thank you for your patience:-) Best regards, The GL Team

Hi John! Unfortenately we no longer have spare parts for any 2- or 3-piece rods, and have not for quite many years. Our last 3pc rod went out of production more than 10 years ago. //Henrik GL
Hi Mike! We here at Guideline firmly belives that two flies has benefits in many places; Dry & Dropper for trout, char and grayling in running water, Batifish + Shrimp on the coast for searun trout, Washing Line rig for UK style boat fishing or as described in this video. It may not always give you double action, but we think it is a good way to search for fish and find the right fly for the day. //Henrik GL
Hi Anders! The LPX Predator rods are designed to cast big and wind resistant flies, so they have a powerful action that goes a bit deeper into the lower half of the rod. The NT11 Saline has a faster action and has an overall lighter weight and feel. //Henrik GL
Hi! The ULS 11´#8 can of course be used to cast pike flies, but it is not the best option. With the lenght of 11´ it is quite heavy to cast single hand, and when you cast it as a double hand rod you can not double haul, which is an important part of throwing big windresisant flies. As a backup it may work, but you will be better of with a LPX Predator 9´ #8. //Henrik GL
Hi Kian! Yes it can be used as a long light dryfly rod also, but bear in mind the action is slow and beacuse of the lenght of the rod the casting stroke is different compared to a shorter rod. //Henrik GL
At last, a modern Spey caster influence on rod design. Brilliant. The ability to use the handshake gtip on the bottom hand should always be there.. A stronger tip, excellent. Very well done Guideline. Can't wait to try these rods now. Glad to see this option and move away from the Underhand influenced style. Weights for rod lengths absolutely correct also. I nearly can't believe it. Someone who knows what is required. Very well done.
Hei Viktor!
I use my own version of a Yellow fly called "Alistair" tied on doubles and small tubes, preferring Yellow to everyone else's Orange. My other choice is a homemade fly I call "Cheeky Mix", a blend of ginger died synthetic Foxtail, with a red Fox wing and red hackle. I've heard several people who understand Salmon fishing far deeper than me, tell me the Scandinavian's often wipe the floor with angler's fishing our rivers this side of the North Sea. I totally agree.
Not only is this excellent instruction, but the video and audio quality is excellent. So many of the instructional fishing videos have poor visual and audio quality that makes the instruction difficult to follow.
Fantastic clip Alvaro and Guideline. Wonderful company with equally good gear across the board. The rods, reels, waders etc are world class and backed by an environmental ethos.
