We use to have a ball especially when we stayed overnight.. get hungry and walk to McDonald’s across from there than go right back .. ride the same rides over and over 😂
Back when WPTY (Now WATN) became the Memphis' ABC affiliate. Owned at that time by Clear Channel (later Newport Television), then purchased by Nexstar, and now owned by Tegna - the station has struggled in the news ratings regardless of improvements in the quality of product and people. WATN 24 is a great affiliate. However, due to Memphis being a traditional medium sized market, and having a UHF call sign on-air, WATN 24 is still regarded in the eyes of many mid-southerners as an independent station.

Don Pardo was a member of The Television Hall Of Fame; and was with NBC for 70 years! He was there when the historical game show was debuted, that being The Price Is Right, and he was the announcer for Jeopardy, but he's probably more known as the announcer for the iconic hit, late night show, Saturday Night Live, where he was available for 38 seasons from 1975 until he retired his voice by way of passing in 2014. What a career!
Lol. Chism's Trail Grocery Stores were located in three different areas of Memphis, back in the day. They were also into politics. I briefly dated one of the Chism's daughters in the early 90's. Good times, memorable moments of Memphis!💜
I’m old enough to remember Iba, Bartow, Yates, Kirk, Finch, Price, Jones, Calipari, Pastner, Tubby, and Penny. HANDS DOWN, the most fun years were under Dana Kirk. Better team, better university, better city, better country.
That Tough Act commercial which I'm guessing is taking shots throwing shade at Mr Clean your typical "bald headed tough guy with muscles" cleaning tough stains 😂😂😂. I guess those were the days when every cleaning commercial had to have a bald headed guy
