sounds like you need a bigger waist gate and or a bigger exhaust manifold to even the pulses out. get a new divided turbine housing and external waist gate. remote mount boost sensor will help smooth the pulses for it as well.
I can see a "Line Lock" for the burnout in it's future. That 6cyl in Taylor's LR was used in them for many years. I don't know about the domestic market but I would think there's plenty of hop-up and Off road stuff available for it.
@CarsandCameras Can you buy a axle made from Seamless Steel Pipe Tube Steel Hydraulic Chromium-molybdenum Alloy Precision Steel Tubes where the ID is about 10mm smaller than the OD so the tubing is 5mm thick wall ????? Those pipes are normally explosion proof & extremely strong.
I rebuilt a mini chopper we found at a house we were remodeling. Spider web sprocket and accents on the frame so I pinstriped web all over it after painting, glued a giant black widow on the back fender and named it "Out For A Spin". 6.5 Hp Robin engine on it. I might need to go look at Harbor freight. Hard to tell through all the stuff but I think that twin would look good.
Please tell John to be a little more gentle shifting gears. I noticed he always seems to jam harshly on gear shifters. Not only is that hard on the shifting forks, but also on the rest of the shifting system. This comment applies to all of your videos with shifter engines especially Hondas. Remember it's not a Harley! It's more like a fine jeweled watch!
We have raced, motorcycles, hobby stock, stock car, modifieds, arca remax, and every thing we were allowed to drive that had a throttle pedal, and we have never used silly-cone on anything but the corners of intake manifolds on pushrod v8 chevys and fords. And I can guarantee you, if my dad seen me put silly-cone on a head gasket, he wouldn't let me work on the race cars with him any more. WTH? It's not glue. It is slippery. You are creating the leak yourself. If it was needed at all you would find it oozing out of all the seams of new engines on Mercedes, Toyota, Chevy, Dodge, etc. But you don't. Why is that? Get the surfaces level clean, and torque to spec. PERIOD. Leave the Silly-cone for the back yard, Mt. Dew drinking, stripper impressing, child support paying, rednecks. Geez.
If you're not already, use 1/8" solid copper head gaskets. Torque them properly and you shouldn't have any more problems. I'm running 3/16 to 1/4 solid copper head gaskets on my 392 Hemi and haven't blown one yet in 5 years.
Só you love it or not?? Worth to go till the end of it's restauration !!! This bike is better than a lot of other newer than this one!! New sleeves and a few things more. But you've saved her!!!
Nahh, the Toyota Landcruisers have had the side folding rear seats all the way back to the 1960,plus don't have the electrical issues that Rovers have, plus hold their value better, plus are the #1 sought after 4wd in the world... 😆
considering that you are going 100mph on a vehicle that weighs less than the average rider, i'd say there's a bigger adrenalin rush from one on these mini bike dragsters than from a bigger vehicle that is a lot safer in a worst case situation.
I'd be tempted to go for a copper head gasket on the drag bike it'd solve a lot of problems & congrats on the rails performance what a great test & tune ❤
Why don't you put a copper o-ring head gasket Have the head cut an the block cut you won't blow another head gasket again. It is worth it. I was running 198 psi of compression I have it done an never happen again. That was on a Tecumseh Star . I still have my back up motor can't find anyone who would like to buy it. Its a methanol motor.
ya know............... that banshee that rolled by would make a pretty sweet power plant for that mini drag too........ lol of course i understand if track would stop you. but got to admit that would certainly change the game up quick!!!!
better yet. maybe someday in the distant future when more videos are needed and funds are available you guys could build a second one and start racing eachother with them. id still think if allowed a two stroke vs four stroke challenge would be awesome
So When Ya Do the New AXLE Put it Under the Frame Or Just Get Enough Ride Height Out Of it to Put A Skate Board Truck and Wheels In the Back to 1 Act as a Wheelie Bar and 2 you Can Just Lean to Steer While IN Wheelie Mode
This thing is BY FAR my favorite project on the channel. I'm stoked to see some drag rail action and I'm super stoked to hear about the upcoming upgrades
