O.S.C.A.R, Outdoor, Survival, Camping, Activities, Reviews the Channel was named in loving memory of my late son Oscar, and cleverley broken down into an anagram. My name is Scott, I am a keen Lover of all things outdoors, camping, hiking, watersports etc. i have a passion for reviewing gear, wether clothing, tents, hammocks or other equipment such as stoves, torches, boots etc.
i really enjoy the process of making a video, filming, editing, tagging the whole process. Anyway thanks, for watching and taking the time to read this. Hope to speak to you in the comments.
No unfortunately not on this trip the kids all wanted to do snorkeling... And had to have 1 adult to 2 kids whilst snorkeling so tagged into snorkeling. Always next time we'll be going again!
Big mistake. Easily snagged on branches and ripped generating leaks. Worn in the Summer you will swelter. Worn in windy weather it will be annoying as it ripples back and forth across your body. Your legs are exposed to rain, snow and ripping wind. Buy yourself a wind and rain .resistant/proof breathable jacket or Anorak and a pair of rain pants to eliminate the priblems described.
Hi Scott, good to see you back out and about. Hope you’re keeping well mate. Like the dual purpose of this, I have the Dutch army poncho. Great bit of kit too. You still do the old job ? All the best
Hi Gary yet mate still on the Ambulance. Getting back into my groove with filming my adventures, been on afew where I've not bothered.. just enjoying the time now and starting a fresh without chasing too much. How are you?
@@OscarOutdoors22hello mate, not to bad here, few health issues ( joys of getting old ) still try to get out in the woods as much as possible for the old mental health 👍🏻
Oi, from Northern Utah, USA! Your video on the One Wind poncho was very informative! I can see where you can combine yours with a hiking mates to form an enclosed tent. As a one man shelter it looks absolutely ideal. Thanks, Oscar.
@@OscarOutdoors22 In the mid 70s I was stationed in Norwich County at RAF Sculthorpe then in Cambridgeshire at RAF Alconbury so I have no trouble understanding you. I'm going to watch ALL of your videos but before I do please satisfy my curiosity. Why didn't you call your channel "Oscar Wild" without the e at the end?
@user-xo5qi4jf7y ha ha! That would of been funny!! Unfortunately the channel is named after my late son... But also an anagram OSCAR (outdoor, survival, camping, adventures, reviews)
Nice review - Big fan of poncho's but feel like not so much this one. Worries would be restricted arm movement in case of a fall and how long the seam sealing will last between the hood and the main body due to it being under tension. Like someone else mentioned can imagine it being very sweaty due to having little air flow .
Thanks mate, yeah I can confirm I was a hot sweaty mess after filming! I think using the reinforced part of the shelter will eliminate some of the pressure .. if (like I've seen in other videos now) you use the tip of the hood I reckon it will give more strain and stress on the seams... Although my arms were under the cape, I still had total movement... But can see what you mean
To be fair, I love that you're getting back in to it...BUT! This is a piece a junk, it's gunna be hot sweaty & just suck bro! BUT...I absolutely love your Olympic 'Break Dance' move when stretched out in the tented version of the cap!❤❤❤❤ p.s. I hung myself 3 times whilst watching this dude!
So glad you're back at it used to love watching you and the 2 Dan's it's the reason I bought my kit im only in Keighley and really struggled with mental health for many years maybe I'll see you in Holmewood of all the places 👍
@OscarOutdoors22 I sincerely mean it about you and the Dan's i did one camp solo and one with the wrong people it set me back alot it's great to see you back out and maybe just maybe if I can bring myself too it I'll see you at the meet all the very best 👌 👍
Scott, So good to see a video of you back camping. Top bloke, you’ve inspired more men than you realise. It’s been great to see you at D.R. Woodland wellbeing. Love the energy, passion and skills that you bring.
The well being group sounds great, glad you found something to unwind and destress! Nice to see you out and about. Just realised I've got the week off before Halloween so was thinking of getting out myself. Stay safe Scott atvb 👍👍👍👍👍🦊
Great video ,happy birthday to your mate, nothing better than sausages on an open fire, hope to see you again soon, you look alot more relaxed, looks like you had a great holiday.
Awesome film Scott. I think you were trying to kill your mate with the curry. Or he was too much of a pussy to eat hot chilli. (Only joking) Looks like you had a good night with your friends. Take it easy man.👍🏴
I'm glad you've found something that has helped. The great holiday will have done everyone good. The outdoors has saved me too. I like being in the woods in a hammock but prefer resetting by spending the night on top of hills.
I brought a Ridgemonkey multi cable for when I go out camping. Seeing your cables I've realised it's completely black so if I drop it I could lose it. I'll have to put a reflective tape on it! Thanks Scott, it's great to see you. Stay safe atvb 👍🦊
Just watched your video on how to properly use the MOLLE system, great video, incredibly useful channel. Subscribed, cheers. Much love from New Zealand.
Hey Horus! Apologies for late reply! I'm playing catch up with comments on a few days off from work. Glad to have you aboard my friend. I have some relatives in NZ
Hey yeah I felt loads better. I've camped a bit with scouts and friends but not filmed. Needed to get my mojo and drive back for it.. but felt tonnes better after this.
Definitely!!! It was minging! I normally let boil, then simmer... Then just have the coffee self stir... Got too busy watching Dan! It was horrible (on this occasion)
Just subscribed Scott Loved the video Saw Dans prior on this camp Great to get your view Looks like you had a great relaxing time Good luck to you both look forward to seeing more of your videos Regards Jeff
