Hi my names Devin, I like turning wrenches and building cool stuff! Slow and lifted or fast and low, you’ll see it all here! Follow me on instagram at @slippersgarage for exclusive and behind the scene projects! 🤘🤙
I want to know how you removed and reinserted the headlight adjustment screws and gears into the new panel? or did you just buy new ones? if you bought new ones, where did you get the parts?
Was the second half of the headliner project ever uploaded? Nice job getting it out btw. I checked the videos posted on your channel bit didn't see a title like "grand cherokee headliner pt 2". But maybe it is a segment in another video just not notes in the title. 😃
Unfortunately I had the headliner glued up sitting on saw horse and a wind storm came threw and broke it in half so I never did get the footage and I was out a headliner.
@@slippersgarage4775 sorry to hear that. There was another good video on the headliner process on XJ. The most valuable bits of info I got from yours was the bolt sizes (especially the torx) and the overhead console slides to remove and don't keep tugging downward with ever increasing "oomph". 😁
Ok troll, apparently you have no idea how to do the job your self or you wouldn’t be watching my video. Unlike you I’m mechanically inclined and I can work on cars without watching RU-vid videos. Watch the video it’ll answer all your questions.
How about you talk about what you are putting back in, music is annoying. For instance, putting the red O rings back on the two small brass fittings, these o rings are damn near impossible to put on, what do you use? Lube?
How do you like the lift after all this time? Ready to get this RC X SERIES 4 INCH for 95 jgcl 6 cyl. 4x4 but now kit went up in price $150. Is it worth it Devin, at 850 as opposed to 700 Whenyou got it? I wanna know. Opinion overall please. Thx
I sold the jeep a few months ago the lift is the only thing I still loved about it! If I did it all over again I would of gone long arms and adjustable. For a budget lift being what it was I could not complain one bit and would recommend it.
@@slippersgarage4775 Thanks for replying. Sorry to hear you gave up on the ZJ or it gave up on you? Wiring gremlins? A couple more questions.. The lift you did was the fixes RC lift for 649+tax w/free shipping right? What do you think about the 6 control arm kit w adjustable short arms (except for the front uppers, they are an extra 199) lift kit, RC is selling for 849+tax and free ship. I cant afford the long arm kits. This 95 is bone stock but body and frame is intact and 4.0L is running well. Has only 240k. Trying to make a daily with weekend camping occasionally. Got free set of jk sahara wheels and tires 32's. Its just hard to figure out all this. Im not a mechanic but doing what you did, budget build but trying to do it right without cutting it up and making it offroad only or strickly a crawler, not my intended use. Any advice, other suggestions in more detail maybe please?
@@bombdiggitydave3881 mechanically the jeep was fine. The rear axle lost a carrier bearing and I didn’t have the interest to fix it. I went through and corrected all the common wiring problems they are known for. I believe that is the lift yes.
@@bombdiggitydave3881 the adjustable control arms are a major improvement you’ll notice in every day ride quality. My major issue with the kit I had was the limited amount I could adjust the pinion angle. Also it had a really bad death wobble around 55 mph but I can’t say for sure what the issue was.
@@bombdiggitydave3881 other then that just buy quality parts and replace what needs replaced when it’s time to replace them. 4 inches isn’t much of a lift on these I often pulled beside vans and suvs that sat higher then me. But the ground clearance was extremely impressive.
So on the pas side of the stock bumper where does the vacuum ball , vacuum line go to mine has the ball but no vac line running to it Don't know where to plug it in at?
Good effort. I appreciate you for trying to show others how to get the header panel and headlights, marker and turn signal lights removed and replaced. I wish your camera didnt die so often and the lighting would have been better so the entire start of the project until the end could have been more clearly seen. The first half of the video with daylight and camera charged fully was great and helpful. Thank you
Ralph Brooks it’s been so long since I’ve done this I can’t remember. I’d have to review the video. However I’m pretty certain it’s more of a support for the inner fender well and fenders than anything and I’ve noticed no issues with it gone.
honey boo hoo better approach angles, if your running long arms you can move your axle forward. If you build a front bumper that would be poking out from behind and it looks good
I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited ZJ V8 (318 CDI) need help with finding a lift kit. Every kit I find says "does not fit AWD models". New to this lift kit stuff
I’m having the same issue. I have a 97 grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 5.2l v8 and all lift kits say they don’t fit AWD and will need to replace front driveshaft components. Some people claim to not have issues though. Just want somebody to give me more details I’ve been researching for almost a year!
The only real issue I had on my 94 zj was the front brake lines, at full turn they were really tight. This was my frist zj kit, had the xj and 2 wrangler RC lift kits this is by far the best ride.
