Let’s hope more routes are coming. As a regular traveller, too often do I have to drive to LHR or LTN to catch flights to significant European cities because BHX doesn’t offer any flights or very few. Berlin, Prague and Lisbon immediately spring to mind.

To board: Go on a jet bridge then on a plane. Or a shuttle bus Get on the plane, greet the crew and find your seat. Place your bag under your seat, put your belt on and open your window shutter. Listen to a safety brief and enjoy the flight. When landing, put your tray up, belt on and open your window shutter. Get off the plane amd say thank you. Enjoy your holiday!!
I dreaded parking at Birmingham, but they turned it into a highlight. The booking process was a dream, and the prices were a pleasant surprise. The staff felt like friends I hadn’t met yet, all smiles and helpful as can be. The shuttle zipped me to and from the terminal in no time. Returning to my car in such great condition was the icing on the cake. Kudos to EzyBook for top-notch service.
Having seen the current construction close up, seeing and knowing the area involved for the new departures security hall in its current build state, I wont hold my breath for the queuing for departures security that has been a pain at BHX going away.
Trash Airport, shops and toilets are OK but security staff for checking bags are just clowns, they won't let you bring British food, even though they would let me in Luton and Gatwick.
@helopi8 What about the security for the former Terminal 2? Will thst get its own security area again, or will it have no direct access to a security area? Do you know anything about this?
@@carlmaster9690 The new security area being built is a replacement for the current one. However, since Terminal 2 was closed in 2011 and its operations were consolidated into the Main Terminal, there won't be a separate security area for Terminal 2. Access to security will likely be integrated into the main security area of the existing terminal.
Government needs security checkpoint because they don’t trust their own people and the world today is not peaceful. No trust, no relationship for me. This is why I don’t trust anyone. I’m safer happier smarter to live alone in solitude. Welcome to the hermit economy!
I like the architects rendering of the almost empty car parking .. like that will happen , unless the cost of going anywhere near the terminal is going to be increased again .. 🎉
Flown so many times from Birmingham. The airport is fine but the parking is very expensive. Even booking online in advance, I have paid £145 for 3 nights on car park 1. Price is also variable as next week the same parking is £128. A few times of late, the ticket free barrier doesn't raise automatically when you leave, and you wait 10 minutes for somebody to push a button somewhere.
I had a ticket agent who said out loud 🔊📢🔊 to harass me for being mixraced woman and has middle eastern races in her. Which means if I'm flying out somewhere else who is a real honest person and the one who made it up that I'm a terrorist person at loud 🔊📢 is very racists against me and others who have middle eastern races in themselves. Shame on you MPLS St. Paul airport in Minnesota. Never ever flying out of Minnesota liar's you all are very racists against me for being mixraced woman that has some middle eastern races counties.
The main reason Birmingham airport is rated one of the worst airports in Europe is simply because they hire the wrong staff. Most of the security staff are either overweight to complete the job or can’t speak a word of English. It will never improve by throwing money at the place. Get the correct qualified individuals to do the job.
Fully grown adult diagnosed this year. Find airports stressful and confusing with massive sensory overload. I found this video so helpful. Will probably watch it with my kids before our trip.
