🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🃏 Common misconception: Playing cards are not made from one thick piece and two thin pieces, but rather two thin pieces with strong glue in between. 00:29 🤏 Technique: To start splitting a card, pinch and rock it back and forth with your thumb, rather than tapping it on a hard surface. 01:10 🤲 Best Practice: For easier splitting, place the card on a flat surface and keep your fingers under the thin bit to avoid ripping. 01:44 🔄 Direction: Instead of going corner to corner, go across and then down to make uncurling easier. 03:03 📚 Pressing: After splitting, press the card pieces for an entire week to get them flat before gluing. 03:35 🧪 Glue: Elmer's rubber cement is recommended for gluing the card pieces back together. 04:14 🧲 Customization: You can add magnets or other elements between the card layers for specialized tricks. 04:55 🚀 Final Thoughts: The video serves as a quick and easy introduction to card splitting for magic tricks. If I remember correctly this is from the Cups and Balls L&L DVD ( I have one part of this DVD series and can highly recommend it) when he wanted to explain that laymen are likely to stop following in the cups and balls once the missing ball reappears.
Look at her face! I think she's legit fooled 😂😂😂 If I don't find a job paying at least 5 bucks an hour (1.50 per hour in Pounds) I think I'm just going to buy one of those children's magic sets, move to the Congo and be worshipped as a god.
You say tomato, I say tomato... hmmm, that doesn't really work in text, does it? Edit: anyways, just to clear things up, I'll type this slowly and clearly so there's no confusion. I pronounce it "equivoke". Still not working, is it?
Very much so (hence uploading it), this is why I keep trying to tell people mentalism is *NOT* an easy option because it tends not to use any knuckle breaking sleights. It's hard, it's the hardest form of magic to do well.
Revisiting this... Mexie, is there a particular brand that you have found that works better than others? I'm getting ready to create several cards for this purpose. Still one of the best videos I've seen on this.
If you drop in to the Peoples Palace of Prestidigitation Discord (link in info section under the video) it's easier to discuss than here. But I assume you mean card brands? If so, any 'good quality' cards will work fine, some cheap/novelty cards will split, some cheap/novelty cards won't. Basically, if they are good enough for you to be happy doing magic with them, they should be fine for splitting. If you are asking about the glue, Elmer's No Wrinkle is the stuff to get, some people like glue sticks, but rubber cement is always the better option (if you must use a stick, Tombow MONO is the best I've found, but rubber cement is better). If you were meaning something else, just say (here or preferably on the Discord) and I’ll do my best to answer. And thanks for the kind words.
🤗🤗🤗! Buck Rogers , one of my top , top favorite comic strips especially Rick Yager's 1950s run! Because this was produced by John Dille it did feel like the comic strip put to live action! 🤗🤗🤗!
@@magicbyspaz You replied to a comment I left on FiddlinJonny's review of Petty's Quantum Deck. I had a look at your channel and it looking interesting enough for a follow.
@@MexieMex ok thanks. I was only asking because I don't advertise my channel and I'm basically a nobody which means someone can't just find me by accident on RU-vid.
@@magicbyspaz it's too late now, I've found you MwaaHaaHaaHaa! Seriously though, your stuff looks interesting, looking forward to future videos. BTW, why not drop into the Discord and have a look around.
